  • Publication number: 20060198295
Abstract: The invention concerns a method for distributing data on an OFDM time-frequency grid for data transmission from and to mobile terminals in a mobile network allowing for coordination of interferences between different cells of the mobile network and adaptive subcarrier frequency allocation to mobile terminals, whereby subcarrier frequencies of the OFDM time-frequency grid are gathered in frequency patterns, the frequency patterns are constructed to accommodate the use of pilot subgrids, a set of frequency patterns is changed in a pilot compatible manner between frequency diverse and frequency selective frequency patterns, and said frequency patterns are allocated to mobile terminals for data transmission , a base transceiver station, a base station controller and a mobile network therefor.

  • Patent number: 6999526
Abstract: A method for detecting an information signal, tone and/or a phase change of a tone in one or more signals which contain inter alia this information signal or this tone, is characterised in that each signal is divided into segments (blocks), in that only a selection of the blocks are further processed for detection, whereas the blocks which have not been selected are not processed further, wherein the signal in the blocks is made available for further processing in the form of samples of a signal in the time domain, in that the blocks are subjected to a transformation, for example a transformation from the time domain to the frequency domain, in order to produce at least one output value, and in that a decision regarding detection is made with the aid of at least one output value of the transformation.

  • Publication number: 20050020913
Abstract: In a method and apparatus to detect position changes of an implant x-ray detectable markers are arranged in the environment of the implant, and 2D x-ray exposures are obtained at temporal intervals of a region containing the implant in which a distribution of the markers as well as of marked points of the implant are visible in each 2D x-ray exposure. A first of the 2D x-ray exposures is obtained at a first point in time from one projection direction, and a second of the 2D x-ray exposures is obtained at a second point in time from another projection direction. The distribution of the markers and marked points is determined in the first and second 2D x-ray exposure by an evaluation device, and from the distributions a degree of probability is calculated that the distribution of the first 2D x-ray exposure and the distribution of the second 2D x-ray exposure are projections of the same three-dimensional distribution of markers and marked points.

  • Publication number: 20040030549
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of coding a signal, in particular an audio or speech signal, wherein a codebook comprising k code vectors is provided for vector quantization of a signal vector representing a set of signal values of said signal(s), and wherein an optimal code vector of said codebook is determined by performing a codebook search. Parallelism is employed to accelerate the coding procedure. In particular, the codebook search is highly parallelised.

  • Publication number: 20030065507
Abstract: The present invention relates to a network unit, an internet access device or gateway, a computer program product and a method for modifying a coded digital signal being represented by a set of parameter values of a speech or audio synthesis model. The coded digital signal is modified in the coded domain by modifying at least one of the parameter values. An application is acoustic echo and/or noise reduction of the coded digital signal.

  • Publication number: 20020072902
Abstract: A process for storing audio signals, in particular speech messages, comprises the following process steps: (a) digitalization of incoming audio signals; (b) storage of the digitalized audio signals in a memory in areas with a first memory size and bit rate; (c) monitoring of the occupancy of the memory; (d) determination of the current occupancy rate, in particular full occupancy of the memory; (e) reduction of the memory size and bit rate of the already stored audio signals to a second, smaller value as soon as a predetermined occupancy rate of the memory is reached and (f) occupation of the memory space released in the memory at least in part by newly incoming audio signals.
