  • Patent number: 9291486
Abstract: The volumetric rate of flow out of a flow line (4) of a bell nipple (2) is a function of the pressure of the head of liquid (7) above the threshold of the intersection of the vertical pipe (3) and the flow line (4). A pressure which is related to that pressure is measured by a pressure transducer (10) which is mounted below the threshold. Density of the fluid (7) is inferred by using the measured pressure as an input to a trained neural network.

  • Publication number: 20150359457
Abstract: A method is disclosed for foot sensors to be used to determine at least two characteristics of a subject's activity by using a combination of sensors for force and foot orientation/motion/position. A wearable footwear ecosystem is comprised of the subject's footwear, sensor-enabled insoles or insertable devices, in- or on-footwear electronics that is hard wired to the sensors and may contain additional sensors such as accelerometers, a master device and means to communicate (typically wirelessly) among the various sensor platforms, and the master device including clock synchronization. Correlating the time stamps for data among various sensors, and the master device communicating wirelessly is critical to accurate determination of the desired characteristics. Multiple force-sensitive resistors on a common substrate are individually optimized for dynamic range. Pulse sensors using arrays of such force-sensitive resistors are implemented.

  • Publication number: 20150101828
Abstract: A technique facilitates the plastic deformation of tubing to a desired size and shape. The technique enables deformation of tubing, such as a coiled tubing end, in a manner which facilitates installation of a tubing connector. A tubing forming device is used in cooperation with a tubing injector. The tubing injector moves the tubing through a die of the tubing forming device in a linear direction so as to deform the tubing to a desired shape and/or size.
