  • Patent number: 8770498
Abstract: A fuel injector includes a solenoid coil, which cooperates with an armature acted upon by a restoring spring, the armature forming an axially displaceable valve part together with a valve needle. A valve-closure member, which forms a sealing seat together with a valve-seat body, is provided on the valve needle. Furthermore, a reliable sealing of a thin-walled valve sleeve or of the magnetic coil exists that is made of a sealing body that is secured beneath the magnetic coil. The sealing body is tetragonal in cross-section, in particular, it has a trapezoid-like shape, and is put in between the magnetic coil and a valve housing. In its installed state, the sealing body is clamped and compressed. In its compressed state, the sealing body assumes an elliptical or egg-shaped cross-section.

  • Publication number: 20140131610
Abstract: A method for joining a first housing component to a second housing component by welding. The first housing component and the second housing component each have hollow bodies with closed hollow cross sections. It is provided that the hollow cross sectional shapes of both components correspond. The outside dimension of the second housing component is smaller than the inside dimension of the first housing component. The second housing component is disposed in the first housing component to create a peripheral gap between an inner wall of the first housing component and an outer wall of the second housing component. The first housing component is welded to the second housing component in the region of the gap between the first and the second housing component. A housing for an injection valve that is manufactured in accordance with the method.

  • Publication number: 20050116056
Abstract: A fuel injector, which, at its inflow-side end, has an intake connector at whose outer circumference at least two sealing rings are provided, which seal the fuel injector from a valve seat. Due to an intermediate ring, the two sealing rings are axially set apart from one another in a respective ring chamber. The intermediate ring is embodied independently of the intake connector and is made up of two parts. A flexible outer ring is locked in place on an inner extruded support ring, the outer ring only being mounted once the first sealing ring has already been moved across the support ring and has been stripped off. The fuel injector is particularly suited for the use in mixture-compressing internal combustion engines having external ignition.

  • Patent number: 6820315
Abstract: An assembling device for assembling and disassembling a fuel injector in a mounting hole of a cylinder head of an internal combustion engine has a jacket body at least partially surrounding the fuel injector. A contact section, on which both a hold-down force for holding down the fuel injector in the mounting hole and a disassembling force for disassembling the fuel injector can be exerted on the fuel injector, and a collar section protruding from the mounting hole are formed on the jacket body. The collar section has at least one thread, in which a disassembling screw can be screwed in so that when the disassembling screw is tightened it abuts on the cylinder head and transmits a disassembling force on the collar section so that the assembling device (1) with the fuel injector (3) inserted into the assembling device (1) is extracted.

  • Patent number: 6058915
Abstract: This disclosure is directed to a multicylinder internal combustion engine with externally supplied ignition, which has a fuel vaporizing device which is connected to individual intake tubes of the engine via a line system. The line system is embodied as branching in such a way that only respective combustion chambers which are not operated in direct ignition sequence (1-3-4-2) are connected in pairs to each other and jointly via a central line to the fuel vaporizing device. The multicylinder internal combustion engine with externally supplied ignition, is provided for motor vehicles.

  • Patent number: 6053153
Abstract: An internal combustion engine for motor vehicles, with an intake tube for aspirating combustion air, in which the tube leads to at least one combustion cylinder, and in which tube a throttle valve is disposed. The intake tube effects a mixing of combustion air and fuel vapor downstream of the throttle valve. For the sake of intensive mixing of fuel vapor and combustion air into a largely homogeneous mixture, the fuel vapor generated in a fuel evaporator outside the intake tube is introduced via a delivery device into air turbulence paths that unavoidably develop downstream of the throttle valve in the intake tube as a consequence of the geometry of the intake tube and/or throttle valve.
