  • Patent number: 11308740
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for locating a cause of the premature discharge of a battery in a vehicle. To simplify locating a cause of the premature discharge of a battery in a vehicle, it is proposed to monitor the current drawn from the battery via an electrical system of the vehicle in the ignition-off-state. Data collected as part of the monitoring can then be examined either alone or in conjunction with additional, in particular, vehicle-specific and/or global data, for information relevant to isolating and/or determining the cause.

  • Publication number: 20220041096
Abstract: A high-beam assistance system of a motor vehicle determines whether or not an unseen vehicle with headlamps switched on is approaching from the opposite direction before the unseen vehicle enters the field of view of a camera in the host vehicle. Wherein the registered images do not include any approaching vehicle on the roadway, the high-beam assistance system determines an expected illumination information item which is estimated to result from illumination by the host headlamps, determines an actual illumination information item contained in the registered images, and compares the expected illumination information item and the actual illumination information item. If the actual illumination information item deviates from the expected illumination information item, then the illumination provided by the host headlamps is adjusted from a high-beam state to a low-beam state.

  • Publication number: 20210354685
Abstract: A driver assistance system for a motor vehicle performs a maneuver using a trajectory determined according to an external environment. The vehicle has a plurality of environment sensors and a controller device configured to acquire an environment data set (UDS) using the environment sensors, which it transmits to a cloud computer. The cloud computer reads in the environment data set (UDS), generates a supplemental data set (EDS) for supplementing the environment data set (UDS), combines the environment data set (UDS) with the supplemental data set (EDS) in order to generate a supplemented environment data set (UDS?), and transmits the supplemented environment data set (UDS?) to the controller device. The supplemental data set (EDS) may be obtained by evaluating data of other road users within a predetermined radius of the vehicle. The controller device evaluates the supplemented environment data set (UDS?) for the purpose of controlling the trajectory.

  • Patent number: 10953878
Abstract: In a method of autonomously driving a subject vehicle through a narrow passage, the passage and an oncoming vehicle in the passage are sensed by sensors of the subject vehicle, and the speed of the oncoming vehicle is determined from speed data of the sensors. A reaction of the oncoming vehicle is predicted from the determined speed, and the subject vehicle is autonomously moved through the narrow passage when the predicted reaction indicates that the oncoming vehicle will not pass through or will free the narrow passage, or a right-of-way rule stored in a database accessed by the subject vehicle indicates that the subject vehicle has the right of way.

  • Patent number: 10846545
Abstract: The content and installation site of road signs are verified by detecting a road sign in one or more images from at least one camera. Image analysis is used to determine the content of the road sign portrayed in the image that is visually recognisable for a human being. Moreover, the installation site of the road sign is determined, and data that are not interpretable for a human being are obtained that are provided by the road sign and that represent the content and the installation site of the road sign. If the determined data and the data obtained from the road sign are concordant then the content of the road sign is displayed or announced to a driver of the vehicle for information. If there is no concordance then a further automatic plausibility check can be performed or a question or information can be sent to the driver.

  • Patent number: 10800425
Abstract: Parameters that characterize a current driving situation of the motor vehicle are acquired. On the basis of the acquired parameters a current level of monotony is determined as a characterization of a monotony of the current driving situation. • Patent number: 10710577
Abstract: A method of performing an autonomous parking maneuver of a vehicle begins with a human vehicle operator/driver issuing a command to a parking assistance system that the parking maneuver requires at least one vehicle wheel to encounter a vertical obstruction (such as a curb) undetected by a sensor providing information to the system. In reaction to the command, the parking assistance system enters an operating mode wherein a setpoint speed of the vehicle during the maneuver is decreased to operate the engine with a greater torque reserve so that it is better adapted to deal with the vertical obstruction. A brake system condition may also be changed when in the operating mode, such as decreasing a brake disk/pad distance. The command may be issued by a vehicle operator standing outside of the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 10697226
Abstract: The disclosure concerns a method for the remote-controlled operation of a tailgate of a motor vehicle. A sensor arrangement of the motor vehicle detects environmental data of the motor vehicle. A control apparatus of the motor vehicle triggers the opening of the tailgate on receiving a wireless opening signal from an operator and triggers the closing of the tailgate on receiving a wireless closing signal from an operator. The control apparatus checks for the presence of at least one closure condition of the tailgate that is independent of the wireless closing signal based on the environmental data detected by the sensor arrangement during opening of the tailgate, and if the closure condition is present, the control apparatus triggers the closing of the tailgate.
