  • Patent number: 7434736
Abstract: The aim of this invention is to control the change of a security module and deactivate the apparatus in the event of the non-authorized removal or replacement of said module. A protection device for a security module connector is proposed, said connector forming part of an acceptor placed on a printed circuit board and integrated into an apparatus whose functioning, controlled by a processor, depends on the security module connected to the acceptor. The device comprises a first part made up of a label attached in a way to block the security module on the printed circuit board, said label including at least one chip and a first antenna. The device further comprises a second part positioned in the vicinity of the connector, said part including a second antenna of a transducer in communication with the apparatus processor. The chip of the label is able to exchange digital signals by means of the first antenna with the second antenna.

  • Patent number: 7190790
Abstract: The present invention proposes an encryption/decryption method able to resist against various attack strategies such as Simple Power Analysis, Timing Analysis or Differential Power Analysis. The method is carried out by a plurality of encryption/decryption modules arranged in series, wherein an encryption/decryption module, different from the first module, starts encryption/decryption operations as soon as said module receives a part of the results of encryption/decryption operations from the immediately preceding encryption/decryption module.

  • Publication number: 20060190726
Abstract: This invention concerns a safe data exchange method between two devices locally connected to one another. In a preferred embodiment, the first device (10) is a security module containing a first encrypting key, said private key (PAKV) of a pair of asymmetric encrypting keys. The second device is a receiver (11) comprising at least one second encrypting key, said public key (PAKB) of said pair of asymmetric encrypting keys. Furthermore each of the devices comprises a symmetrical key (13). The first device (10) generates a first random number (A), which is encrypted by said private key (PAKV), then transmitted to the second device (11), in which it is decrypted by means of the public key (PAKB). The second device (11) generates a second random number (B), which is encrypted by said public key (PAKB), then transmitted to the first device (10), in which it is decrypted by means of the private key (PAKV).

  • Patent number: 6785442
Abstract: A selective routing cross-connect device comprises a switch array, together with a phasar. The phasar comprises an array of channel waveguides, and first and second slab waveguides. A main input feeds a wavelength division multiplexed (WDM) signal into the first slab waveguide so that demultiplexed outputs corresponding to an mth diffraction order exit the second slab waveguide. First and second further waveguides feed respective sets of demultiplexed signals back into the second slab waveguide at positions offset from said mth diffraction order (preferably at locations slightly offset from the adjacent diffraction orders). The first further waveguide supplies those demultiplexed signals which are to remain in the main channel, together with any added signals, whereas the third waveguide supplies those demultiplexed signals which are to be dropped. Selection of component signals for maintenance, adding or dropping is performed by control of the switch array.

  • Publication number: 20040017918
Abstract: A communication system for point-to-point communications of content such as video files in a video on demand system employs one or more keys specific to a user. Upon receiving a request including a specific user ID for a content, the transmission end uses the specific key corresponding to the user to encrypt control words that are transmitted to the user, to encrypt control words before they are used to encrypt the content at the transmission end, to encrypt the content itself, or some combination of the foregoing. A user unit performs the reverse operation using one or more specific keys stored in the user unit and/or a security module associated with the user unit. The user unit also uses a specific key to encrypt any content that is stored at the user unit.
