  • Patent number: 8923171
Abstract: Disclosed are methods and apparatus for reducing UE's power consumption by controlling early decoding boundary. In one aspect, a UE is configured to receive a data or voice frame from a base station. The UE selects one or more quality metrics for determining decoding boundary of the received frame and computes the selected one or more quality metrics. The UE then determines a decoding boundary for the frame based on one or more computed quality metrics. The UE then decodes the received frames at the determined decoding boundary and determines whether the decoding of the frame was successful. If the early decoding of the frame was successful, the UE may terminate reception of the frame. If the early decoding of the frame was unsuccessful, the UE may adjust the decoding boundary and decodes the frame at the adjusted boundary.

  • Patent number: 8695150
Abstract: A tablet computer cleaning device (10) (TCCD 10) that is used to clean the screen of a tablet computer (80), an electronic reader (88) or the like. The TCCD (10) is particularly designed to be placed over and around the cover (82) of a tablet computer (80) when not being used to clean the screen (86) of the computer. The TCCD (10) is comprised of a resilient circular band (12) that has an outer fabric (14) and an inner fabric (32), wherein both of the fabrics function as particle-attracting fabrics. The structural integrity of the TCCD (10) is reinforced by including a border stitch (72) and to further enhance the utility of the invention, the TCCD (10) can include indicia (70) consisting of images of various forms.

  • Publication number: 20140078917
Abstract: Disclosed are an apparatus and method for assessing decode reliability of voice, data and control channel transmissions. In an aspect, the apparatus and method are configured to receive one or more radio frames or parts of a frame on a downlink channel; demodulate the received one or more frames or parts of the frame; decode the demodulated one or more frames or parts of the frame; compute one or more demodulator-based metrics and one or more decoder-based metrics; combine the one or more demodulator-based metrics and the one or more decoder-based metrics using a reliability function that assesses reliability of the decoded one or more frames or parts of the frame; and accept or reject the decoded one or more frames or parts of the frame based on the assessment of the reliability of the decoded frames or parts of the frame.

  • Publication number: 20140011248
Abstract: Biomass feedstocks (e.g., plant biomass, animal biomass, and municipal waste biomass) are processed to produce useful products, such as fuels. For example, systems are described that can convert feedstock materials to a sugar solution, especially, xylose, which can then be chemically converted to furfural and furfural-derived products.

  • Publication number: 20130304853
Abstract: A plurality of application services are provided to subscriber devices in a cloud computing network. A plurality of requests for application services are received from a subscriber device via a customized private network connection assigned to the subscriber device, and the requests for application services are aggregated with requests for application services from other subscriber devices. The requests are transmitted to application servers within the cloud computing network hosting applications for performing the application services. The subscriber device is provided with the requested plurality of application services via the customized private network connection.

  • Publication number: 20130269574
Abstract: A table comprises a base support including a base table leaf having a generally planar base table leaf surface, and at least one main table leaf movably carried by the base support. Each main table leaf is movable between a retracted position and an expanded position in which the respective main table leaf surface is generally coplanar with and in registration with the base table leaf surface. The table further comprises at least one extension table leaf. Each extension table leaf is slidably carried by a respective main table leaf to be slidably movable between a nested position and an extended position. The extension table leaf surface is substantially parallel to the main table leaf surface in both the nested position and the extended position. End supports are pivotally carried by the at least one main table leaf, and are pivotable between a stowed position and a support position.
