  • Publication number: 20200244629
Abstract: Current data archiving and storage solutions seek to store data in the most accessible manner possible, often foregoing security for sake of user convenience. The technology, system, and methods proposed in this document seek to protect data in a highly resilient, secure manner, suitable for extremely long-term periods of time without loss of data integrity. The proposed solution includes methods for storing digital data, validating the integrity of the data on both sides of the transmission, encryption with keys that only the user has access to, splitting files into obfuscated slices for increased security, and determining the most effective storage location according to a novel cost metric.

Data is reduced to ephemeral “ghost” files that remain faithful copies of the original data files, capable of being perceived by a user device, but never resident upon the device.

  • Publication number: 20200183990
Abstract: Persistent media playback techniques are described. In an implementation, a media player is served via a network for display by a browser of a device. Web pages are served via the network for display by the browser of the device. Each of the web pages is configured for integration with the media player so that the media player is persistently displayed by the browser during navigation among the web pages. • Patent number: 10643744
Abstract: A method of detecting and/or tracking use of a drug delivery device is disclosed. The drug delivery device includes a machine readable code and a visual indicator, and has pre-use and used states, such that use of the drug delivery device triggers a transition from the pre-use to the used state. The visual indicator has a first state when the drug delivery device is in the pre-use state and a different second state when the drug delivery device is in the used state. The method includes enabling a user device having an image sensor to capture an image of the drug delivery device, determining, by the user device processor from the captured image, whether the visual indicator of the drug delivery device is in the second state, and obtaining, by the processor, information from the machine readable code when the visual indicator is determined to be in the second state.

  • Publication number: 20200137035
Abstract: Traditional web servers store content and make it available on a continuous basis, significantly increasing the attack surface for hackers looking to compromise sensitive content. The technology, system, and methods proposed in this document seek to address this significant vector by transforming structured and unstructured web content into a single-file format, storing it in a data-centric secure data storage system, and then generating the content, on-demand, when requested by the web server. The proposed solution includes methods for storing and generating the content on demand, processing the content securely, and ensuring its integrity.

  • Patent number: 10478568
Abstract: A needle safety device has an outer tube within which a syringe barrel is slideably receivable. A collar in the outer tube is moveable relative thereto and rotatably attachable to the distal end of the barrel. A force member biases the outer tube in a distal direction. A track is formed in the inner surface of the outer tube. A pin extending radially outwardly from the collar slidingly engages the track. In a staging position, the barrel is inspectable. In a pre-injection position, the cannula extends a first length beyond the outer tube. In a full-insertion position, the cannula extends a second length greater than the first length beyond the outer tube. In a locked position, the cannula is entirely within the outer tube.

  • Publication number: 20190336692
Abstract: An apparatus for presenting an application status of a medical device that has a unused state and a used state. The apparatus includes a label having an electrochromic element. The label is at least partially disposed on an exterior surface of the medical device and is configured to display a predetermined feature in response to an electric current. A power source is disposed in or on the medical device for providing the electric current. A switch is configured to selectively connect or disconnect the label and the power source to one another for controlling the application of the electric current to the electrochromic element in response to actuation of the medical device from the unused state to the used state. The label may be scanned by a scan device that may connect to a medical organization for communicating information between the scan device and the medical organization.

  • Patent number: 10469087
Abstract: A method for tuning a quantum gate of a quantum computer comprises interrogating one or more qubits of the quantum computer using stored control-parameter values and yielding new data. The method further comprises computing an objective function quantifying operational quality of the quantum gate at the stored control-parameter values, such computing employing the new data in addition to a prior distribution over features used to compute the objective function. Here, the prior distribution may be obtained by previous adaptive or non-adaptive interrogation of the one or more qubits, for instance. The method further comprises updating the stored control-parameter values, expanding the prior distribution to incorporate uncertainty in the objective function at the updated control-parameter values, re-interrogating the one or more qubits using the updated control-parameter values, and re-computing the objective function using the expanded prior distribution.

  • Publication number: 20190328976
Abstract: A combination accessory finger flange and pharmaceutical syringe system including a needle safety shield having a safety-shield outer tube the proximal end of which forms a coupling ring, has a base portion with diametrically-opposed finger flanges that extend radially outwardly therefrom and a central opening dimensioned to receive the safety-shield outer tube. Diametrically-opposed, radially outwardly extending coupling-ring flanges are received and retained in diametrically-opposed receptacles on a top surface of the base-portion adjacent the central opening when the safety-shield outer tube is in the central opening, the coupling-ring flanges are in contact with the top surface of the base-portion and the coupling ring is rotated in a first rotational direction relative to the base portion.

  • Patent number: 10451459
Abstract: There is disclosed inhaler testing apparatus, in which at least one flow regulation valve, such as a needle valve, is located within a conduit. The flow regulation valve divides the conduit into inlet and outlet sides of the valve. The inlet side is arranged for connection to an inhaler and the outlet side for connection to a vacuum source. An electric motor provides variable adjustment of a flow opening through the valve. At least one sensor senses pressure or flow rate in the inlet side and a controller automatically adjusts the flow opening through the valve in response to readings from the at least one sensor. The apparatus may also comprise a shut off valve, such as a solenoid valve.
