  • Publication number: 20140050497
Abstract: Methods and systems feed sheets of media on a media path within a printer device and place marking material on the sheets of media to produce printed sheets using a marking station. The methods and systems press the sheets of media using a pressure roller to join the marking material to the sheets of media and control heating elements to heat different portions of the pressure roller differently based upon the gloss level of the printed sheets using the processor.

  • Patent number: 8559516
Abstract: A method for identifying video content consistent with certain embodiments involves, selecting a plurality pixels using a pixel selection algorithm, the pixels being selected to provide a repeatable selection of pixels in a selected frame in the video content; establishing a scene signature by: extracting a characteristic of each selected pixel that can be represented in a digital form for each pixel, and generating a digital stream by concatenating the digital form for the extracted characteristic of each pixel; transmitting the scene signature to an identification device for comparison with scene signatures in a database having a plurality of video content items to identify the video content; and receiving either the identification of the video content or an indication that no video content is uniquely identified by the scene signature. This abstract is not to be considered limiting, since other embodiments may deviate from the features described in this abstract.

  • Publication number: 20130223858
Abstract: Methods include moving a fuser assembly with respect to a medium at a fusing nip. The fuser assembly may be moved back and forth, axially in a media cross process direction for registration distribution. The system may be configured to move the fuser assembly different distances based on a deduction of a current location of a fuser member in view of a known driving motor speed, and a time elapsed after a change in signal state. Systems may incorporate one or two sensors, and may be configured for axial movement over a distance of 2 mm or a distance of 55 mm. signature.

  • Publication number: 20120263979
Abstract: Apparatuses and methods for portable storage of disposable or rechargeable batteries are disclosed. The battery holder can have several battery compartments, each being suitable for securely holding a battery of a certain size. Additionally, the battery holder has visible indicia instructing a user as to how to orient the battery in the compartment depending on whether the battery is empty or full. Thus, the orientation of the battery in the holder signals battery's empty/full status to the user. The battery compartments can be arranged in one or more rows, circularly, or in a honeycomb orientation. The battery holder can be made of elastic material capable of securely keeping the battery in place. The battery compartments for round batteries can have a non-round cross section, thus enabling air escape from the compartment as the battery is inserted.

  • Patent number: 8267332
Abstract: A self-contained, hand-held paint spray gun apparatus having a paint reservoir on the gun and a turret assembly having a reversible tip for spraying paint from the reservoir through the tip and a swirl chamber adapter located between the gun and turret assembly. The tip is reversible between a SPRAY position and a CLEAN position to enable a user of the paint spray gun to rapidly and conveniently clear an obstruction in the tip and continue spraying without removing the tip. The swirl chamber adapter has a generally planar face opposing a swirl valve in the gun and forming a swirl chamber upstream of the turret assembly and has a centrally located bore extending from the generally planar face to the outlet of the adapter.

  • Publication number: 20120099410
Abstract: A DRM disk such as a Blu-ray stores content in a high resolution version for playing by a disk player. The disk also stores the same content in a lower resolution version for playing by a secondary device such as a Playstation Portable (PSP). The disk can be engaged with the disk player and the lower resolution format transferred to the secondary player through a mechanism such as a removable medium (e.g., a Sony Memory StickĀ®) or a USB connection or other means in accordance with DRM restrictions on the disk.

  • Patent number: 8095955
Abstract: In response to a channel change command in a home network, to reduce latency a real time network bandwidth determination is made and if the determination indicates that bandwidth is sufficient to support only I-frame transmission, then only I-frames are sent temporarily from the source to the sink. Otherwise, I and P frames only are sent and may be encoded at a faster than normal frame rate and displayed at a lower than normal frame rate. If the sink is not configured for non-standard groups of pictures (GOP) some of the P frames can be indicated to the sink as being B-frames.

  • Publication number: 20110080335
Abstract: The brightness of a bed-mounted projector that projects images on a wall or ceiling is established in proportion to the ambient light level in the room. A motion detector can be used to operate room lights in the room only at user-defined times. Keystone correction of the image can be made based on the projection angle as sensed by an orientation sensor. An input strip on the headboard centerline can be used as a control input device.
