  • Publication number: 20190085248
Abstract: Biomass is converted into a bio-oil containing stream in a riser reactor containing a cooling media. The cooling media quenches the rapid heat transfer to the biomass during cracking of the biomass in the mixing zone of the riser. By lowering the temperature to which the mixing zone effluent is exposed, production of carbon monoxide and light gases is decreased during thermolysis of the biomass.

  • Publication number: 20190062959
Abstract: A fabricated part for a high temperature operation including a non-metallic substrate formed of a polymer fabric of woven non-absorbent polymer filament. The substrate is heat-resistant and heat set at a temperature that is above a predetermined operating temperature of an operation of the fabricated part. The heat setting pre-shrinks/heat stabilizes the material, thereby reducing failure during use in high temperature and/or wet applications. The substrate is useful as an endless belt and other applications. The invention further includes an apparatus with a heating device configured to operate at the predetermined operating temperature, and the fabricated part within or extending through the heating device.

  • Patent number: 10024423
Abstract: A braking reduction and transmission control system is implemented in a vehicle or machine having a power source and an automatic transmission connected by a torque converter providing a fluid coupling between a power source output shaft and a transmission input shaft. A lock-up clutch operatively connect to the torque converter is locked when the shafts are rotating at approximately the same speed. The braking reduction and transmission control system unlocks the lock-up clutch when operating conditions of the machine indicate that a transmission downshift will occur, such as when a combination of a brake input device displacement and a machine ground speed compared to a transmission downshift schedule indicate that the downshift will occur. Prior to downshifting the transmission and unlocking the torque converter, the drivetrain assists the service brakes in slowing the machine.

  • Patent number: 9840659
Abstract: Methods including deactivation and activation of permeability modifiers for use in subterranean formation operations. A first treatment fluid may be introduced into a subterranean formation having a first treatment zone having a first aqueous permeability value, the first treatment fluid comprising a first aqueous base fluid and a deactivated permeability modifier. The deactivated permeability modifier may be adsorbed onto a surface of the first treatment zone. A second treatment may thereafter be introduced into the subterranean formation, the second treatment fluid comprising a second aqueous base fluid and a cyclodextrin compound. The second treatment fluid may contact the deactivated permeability modifier to activate the permeability modifier by complexing the deactivating surfactant with the cyclodextrin compound, thereby forming an activated permeability modifier adsorbed onto the surface of the first treatment zone and reducing the aqueous permeability of the first treatment zone.
