  • Patent number: 8756972
Abstract: Volatile liquid vapors formed during the pour of the volatile liquid from a volumetric test measure apparatus are contained in a pour vapor-containment apparatus that enhances the rate of vapor formation inside the pour vapor-containment apparatus. The interface between a flow control component on the test measure apparatus and a pour inlet on the pour vapor-containment apparatus creates a positive pressure, vapor-saturated environment so that a sufficient positive vapor pressure is maintained between the interior of the test measure apparatus and the pour vapor-containment apparatus when the flow control component is inserted in the pour inlet and the test measure apparatus is rotated about vertical during the pour and drain processes so that the vapor-saturated air formed in the pour vapor-containment vessel transfers during the pour into the interior of the test measure apparatus to replace the liquid that is poured out of the test measure apparatus.

  • Publication number: 20140137625
Abstract: A liquid proving system is provided with a small volume liquid prover draining into a liquid holding tank that has capacity for multiple proving measurements. The small volume liquid prover can either be top-filled or bottom-filled, or exclusively bottom-filled. A liquid holding tank baffle assembly contains saturated vapor from an initial number of fills of the liquid holding tank within the small volume prover to improve overall accuracy of the proving measurements. When liquid is pumped into the prover evaporation of the liquid being pumped into the prover, and release of vapors from the prover, is inhibited due to the saturated vapor environment established by a saturated vapor volume in the prover, which results in a more accurate prover measurement of liquid pumped into the prover.

  • Publication number: 20140048260
Abstract: A hydration acceleration surfactant may be utilized in conjunction with high molecular weight polymers in forming high viscosity, aqueous based treatment fluids. Forming such fluids may involve mixing an aqueous base fluid, a hydration acceleration surfactant, a crosslinker polymer, and a base polymer, thereby yielding a treatment fluid, wherein the base polymer is provided in the form of a first polymeric emulsion before mixing and/or the crosslinker polymer is provided in the form of a second polymeric emulsion before mixing. Further, such fluids may be useful in subterranean operations to perform for at least one function within the wellbore and/or the subterranean formation including bridge a fracture, provide fluid loss control, seal a rock surface, enable fluid diversion, plug a void, reduce formation permeability, control water production, and any combination thereof.

  • Patent number: 8096556
Abstract: A method of playing a card wagering game. Each player places an ante. A first number of cards is dealt face down to each player and a dealer to form a player hand and a dealer hand. Players view their cards and decide whether to continue play or surrender. Players that surrender shall fold and forfeit their ante wager. Remaining players place a call wager to continue play. A second number of cards is dealt face down to each remaining player and the dealer so that each player and the dealer now have a hand of the first and second number of cards. If any player does not have at least a four card straight, a four card flush or a four card straight-flush that player loses his ante wager. Each player that has at least a four card straight, a four card flush or a four card straight-flush now plays against the dealer's hand. A player is paid on the player's ante and call wagers in accordance with a pay-table when the player's hand outranks the dealer's hand.
