  • Publication number: 20220308585
Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for exploiting modern controls, sensors and actuators to realize a novel family of in-line two-wheeled vehicles (Twills) as robots. Each robot has a front-wheel with a substantially horizontal axis of rotation and a substantially vertical steering axis. The front-wheel with its substantially vertical steering axis has a steering-angle that can be sensed by one or more sensors. There is a rear-wheel with a substantially horizontal axis of rotation. A control module stabilizes the roll angle when the robot is in a forward motion as well as when it is substantially or fully stopped. One or both the wheels of the robot may be endowed by a steering motor for steering and a traction motor for providing traction/torque to the wheel.

  • Publication number: 20220309513
Abstract: System, device, and method for estimating a current condition of remote appliances and for generating a post-purchase warranty for remote appliances. A system is configured to obtain and analyze data pertaining to an appliance, at a post-purchase evaluation time-point that is subsequent to the time-of-purchase of the appliance. Based on the data obtained and analyzed, the system determines an Appliance Usage Score Value, indicating characteristics of a manner in which this particular appliance has been utilized, since the time-of-purchase until that post-purchase evaluation time-point. Based on the Appliance Usage Score Value that was determined, the system automatically generates a post-purchase Warranty Proposal or Insurance Proposal for a new warranty or a new insurance for this particular appliance, and automatically determines and generates a premium amount or a price that is included in that post-purchase Warranty Proposal or Insurance Proposal.

  • Publication number: 20220301486
Abstract: A pulse-density-modulation display and image capture system comprises a display comprising a plurality of pixels. Each pixel comprises a light emitter that controllably emits light at a constant current for a variable amount of time and a control circuit connected to the light emitter to control the light emitter to emit light in response to an input signal specifying the desired luminance of the light emitter. The control circuit converts the input signal to a non-contiguous pulse-density-modulation signal and controls the light emitter to emit light in response to the non-contiguous pulse-density-modulation signal with a temporally variable constant-current control signal. Each pixel emits light responsive to a display timing signal. The pulse-density-modulation display and image capture system also comprises a sampling camera that records the pixels and is responsive to a camera timing signal different from the display timing signal.

  • Publication number: 20220279634
Abstract: A correlated color temperature (CCT) of one or more luminaires is controlled by obtaining a target CCT for the one or more luminaires and obtaining a first profile associated with a first luminaire of the one or more luminaires. A first target power for a first direct-current (DC) power input of the first luminaire and a second target power for a second DC power input of the first luminaire are calculated based on the target CCT and the first profile so that the first target power and the second target power drive the first luminaire to emit light at the target CCT. A first DC power supply is controlled to deliver the first target power to the first DC power input of the first luminaire and a second DC power supply is controlled to deliver the second target power to the second DC power input of the first luminaire.
