  • Patent number: 9096834
Abstract: The present invention provides for the improved production of fatty acid products in a recombinant microorganism or host cell engineered to express a non-native gene encoding a thioesterase and a non-native gene encoding a lysophosphatidic acid acyltransferase (LPAAT), in which the LPAAT is overexpressed in the recombinant microorganism compared to an otherwise identical microorganism that does not include the non-native LPAAT gene. The invention also provides methods of producing fatty acid products using such recombinant microorganisms.

  • Publication number: 20150178735
Abstract: Rules, applied to deny authorization of likely fraudulent transactions, are derived from a modified Patient Rule Induction Method algorithm that uses a target variable and a data set of past transactions each associated with a plurality of input variables and a hyper-rectangle enclosing a multi-dimensional space defined by a representation of the input variable values as points within the multi-dimensional space. While a count of the points within the hyper-rectangle is greater than a minimum support parameter, a first plurality of points proximal to edges of the hyper-rectangle are removed, where each such removing maximizes a mean value of the target variable, and then, while the mean value remains maximized, a second plurality of points proximal to the edges is added, where each adding maximizes or maintains the mean value. The hyper-rectangle is bounded within a minimum bounding box that defines the rules.

  • Patent number: 9021458
Abstract: Embodiment are directed towards managing application delivery over a network. Change information that corresponds to changes to an application may be provided to a delivery pipeline. The change information may be verified in part based on a static analysis of the content of the change information, compiling, and unit testing. Reviewers may be notified to approve the change information. A version of the application that includes the change information may be generated. Acceptance testing may be performed that includes provisioning computing resources in an acceptance computing environment. And, deploying a version of application that includes the change information into the acceptance computing environment. If the acceptance testing passes, a shipping operation may be enabled pausing the delivery pipeline until an authorized user activates the shipping operation restarting the delivery pipeline and deploying the application to one or more computing environments.

  • Patent number: 9001096
Abstract: Provided is a display device that has excellent accuracy in image capturing by improving linearity of sensitivity characteristics of a photodiode. An optical sensor provided on an active matrix substrate of the display device includes; a photodiode (D1a) for receiving incident light; a reset signal line (RSTa) for supplying a reset signal RST to the optical sensor; a readout signal line (RWSa) for supplying a readout signal RWS to the optical sensor; and a sensor switching element (M1a) for reading out a photoelectric current output from the photodiode (D1a), according to the readout signal, during a period from the supply of the reset signal to the supply of the readout signal. A potential VLS of a light shielding film (LS) provided on a back side of the photodiode (D1a) is caused to be a high level potential during a period that at least partially overlaps a period while the reset signal is supplied.

  • Publication number: 20150047423
Abstract: An edge sharpness measurement apparatus includes a clamp for securing a test medium against a frictional member, and an engagement mechanism for a normal force, such that the normal force directs the test medium against the frictional member with a force based on operational conditions of the test medium. A further engagement mechanism is for a tangential force, in which the engagement mechanism is adapted to increase the tangential force to identify a tangential force sufficient to dispose the frictional member across the test medium. A pivot defines an angle of application of the tangential force relative to the normal force, such that disposing the frictional member across the test medium defines a point of overcoming frictional forces between the test medium and the frictional member. A measurement device, such as a gauge or range on a spring, measures the tangential force sufficient to dispose the frictional member.

  • Patent number: 8949360
Abstract: A system and method for sending and receiving requests and responses, relaying requests, and aggregating requests and responses to and from social networks are described. In one aspect a system user can send a request to recipients chosen by the user as being people or groups most likely to have useful responses to the request. Recipients can respond to the request, relay the request to one or more additional recipients, or both. The other recipients can further respond to and/or relay the request, etc. The system user who originated the request (also referred to as the request originator, or the originator) has control over which other users, if any, can see the request. For example, the originator can specify that the request not be relayed.

  • Publication number: 20150027736
Abstract: A downhole string and method of operating where tension in the downhole string is monitored real time so that the tension in the downhole string does not exceed its yield strength. Included with the string is a tension sub for monitoring the tension that includes a sensor in the housing of the tension sub. The sensor can be a strain gauge and can be placed proximate an upper end of the downhole string so that tension in a wireline attached to the string can also be monitored. The portion of the housing having the sensor is narrowed for enhancing sensitivity of monitoring.

  • Publication number: 20140281001
Abstract: A method, apparatus and non-transitory computer medium are provided for encoding data of a media file for playback by a user equipment in a communications network. A request for a range of encoded data is received from the user equipment, the encoded data to be generated by encoding data from an original media file. The request for a range of encoded data is converted into a request for a range of original data from the original media file. The range of original data is retrieved and the range of original data is encoded to generate encoded data. The requested range of encoded data, from the generated encoded data, is provided to the user equipment.
