  • Patent number: 8294079
Abstract: Each of even-numbered photodiodes 1 and 2 for constituting a diode of the present invention (i) has regions (regions 1a through 1c and regions 2a through 2c) whose sizes in a certain direction are identical to sizes of regions of a reference diode 5, and (ii) has a channel width equal to ½ of a channel width W of the reference diode 5. The regions 1a through 1c and the regions 2a through 2c are arranged so as to (i) extend parallel to the certain direction which is provided parallel to a channel length L of the reference diode 5, and so as to be (ii) line-symmetric or point-symmetric to each other as a whole. The photodiodes 1 and 2 are electrically connected to each other in series so as to carry out an equivalent operation to that of the reference diode 5. Employing of the photodiodes 1 and 2 provides a configuration of diodes each having an identical characteristic and occupying a reduced area on a substrate.

  • Patent number: 8296785
Abstract: Links are established between data elements common to different application programs to make it easier for a user to perform an action in one application program using data available in another application program. Data elements are identified in a first data set for a first application program. One or more performable actions is associated with each identified data element. Common or matching data elements in a second data set for a second application are identified. When a user selects one of the matching data elements in the second data set, a selectable list of actions is presented to enable performance of a selected action from within the first application program in relation to the data element selected in the second application program.

  • Publication number: 20120261557
Abstract: Provided is a display device that includes an optical sensor having a high sensitivity in which a potential difference of an accumulation node due to an illuminance difference on a light receiving surface after boosting is set greater than a potential difference of the same at an end of an integration period. • Publication number: 20120262424
Abstract: A plurality of sensor pixel circuits each including two photodiodes, one accumulation node accumulating charge corresponding to an amount of light, and a read transistor having a control terminal connected to the accumulation node are arranged in a pixel region. In accordance with a clock signal, when a backlight is turned on, a transistor turns on, a current flows through the photodiode, and a potential at the accumulation node drops. When the backlight is turned off, a transistor turns on, a current flows through the photodiode, and the potential at the accumulation node rises. Sensitivity characteristics of the two photodiodes may be changed using the clock signal. The sensor pixel circuit described above is used for detecting a difference between an amount of light to be incident when the backlight is turned on and an amount of light to be incident when the backlight is turned off.

  • Patent number: 8289053
Abstract: An inverter is configured by double gate TFTs, and an inverter is configured by double gate TFTs. Top gate terminals of the TFTs that configure the inverter are connected to an input terminal DAT(+), and bottom gate terminals are connected to an output of the inverter and an output terminal OUT. Bottom gate terminals of the TFTs that configure the inverter are connected to an input terminal DAT(?), and bottom gate terminals are connected to an output of the inverter. With this, threshold voltages of the inverters are controlled so as to facilitate switching operations of the inverters, and whereby the comparator circuit operates at a high speed. It is possible to obtain a comparator circuit that is insusceptible to a variation in the threshold voltages of the transistors and fluctuation of a common mode voltage of an input signal and capable of operating at a high speed.

  • Publication number: 20120199571
Abstract: Disclosed is a pressurized oven apparatus having a compressor and a pressurized chamber for rapidly preparing food products and retaining internal moisture therein. The apparatus comprises an oven with a pin-locking door and sealing means, an internal chamber having heating elements and a structure designed to withstand elevated internal pressures. Ambient air is drawn into the device through an air filter by an air compressor means. The compressor elevates the air pressure as it enters, whereby it flows to a preheating chamber, raising its temperature prior to being forced into the oven internal chamber. An automated relief valve system allows a consistent pressure to be maintained within the chamber, allowing the pressurized air to be evacuated therefrom through an insulated and muffled outlet. The air outlet of the device is preferably connected to an insulated air line to vent air to the exterior of a building or residence.

  • Publication number: 20120192187
Abstract: Embodiments of an event-driven process management and automation system are disclosed. Such system may be particularly appropriate for a multi-tenant environment so that a single process handling flow may be generated for a given process. Because in a multi-tenant environment many different entities may desire to customize or optimize this process handling flow for their particular usage, modifications to the process flow may be easily handled by a non-technical user to realize process modification without incurring additional development costs. Using a multi-level hierarchical inheritance model in accordance with an embodiment of the present invention, a process may be standardized, with focused customization available on a macro and/or micro level.

  • Patent number: 8227674
Abstract: A practical means to position and adjust the parts of a grand piano's action outside of the piano to fit and play properly, precisely, and as expected in the piano. A custom keybed supports the action as supported in the piano and secures its position. A regulating rack holds one or more reference edges above the action to delineate strike position (the location of hammer-to-string contact in the piano) and those distances from strike required for regulating. It also records hammer spacing at strike. A hammer squaring platform allows a shank traveler and hammer square to set up the hammers to address their strings vertically. And a string height gage assembly, including gage, sliding base, and rail, measures and records strike position in the piano to accurately set up the regulating rack's reference edges.

  • Patent number: 8218434
Abstract: Described is a system and method of protection switching in an Ethernet network. First and second point-to-point Ethernet links are established to data equipment. Identical streams of Ethernet traffic are received at a first Ethernet port and at a second Ethernet port. The stream of Ethernet traffic being received at the first Ethernet port is transmitted to the data equipment over the first point-to-point Ethernet link, while the second Ethernet port is prevented from transmitting the stream of Ethernet traffic received at the second Ethernet port. During a protection switch, transmission of Ethernet traffic ceases over the first point-to-point Ethernet link, and commences over the second point-to-point Ethernet link, the second Ethernet port transmitting the stream of Ethernet traffic being received at the second Ethernet port to the data equipment.
