  • Patent number: 11759042
Abstract: Systems, methods, and articles to provide customized control of a cooking appliance, such as a sous vide cooker. A user provides a selection of one or more ending characteristics for a food product. A processor-based device determines one or more output food preparation parameters based on the user's selection of the one or more ending characteristics. Measurements of temperature, power delivery, or other characteristics may be obtained during cooking process. A cooking program controlling the cooking process may be revised or updated based at least in part on the obtained measurements or analysis of the measurements. Estimations or projections about the cooking process may be presented to a user via a user interface of the cooking appliance or a user interface of one or more computing devices (e.g., smartphone, tablet computer) associated with the user.

  • Publication number: 20230286020
Abstract: An item sorting system is described. The item sorting system includes at least one bin that holds items to be sorted and a light source that illuminates the items stored in the at least one bin. In implementations, the at least one bin includes walls that direct light, received from the light source via a first surface, for emission via a second surface facing an interior of the at least one bin. The item sorting system further includes a recognition device that identifies the items for use in sorting the items. The item sorting system further includes an end effector that manipulates the items during sorting. In some implementations, the end effector includes tips that apply a gentle vacuum force to individually manipulate items in a manner that allows for efficient sorting without damaging the items.

  • Patent number: 11748531
Abstract: Design parameters for PDC drill bit including in-cone depth of cut controllers (DOCCs) are correlated to instances of coupled vibrations in the axial, lateral, and torsional directions occurring during downhole drilling. Design parameters are quantified by drilling efficiency (DE), average in-cone DOCC contact area, average weight on bit (WOB) taken off by in-cone DOCC, and average torque on bit (TOB) taken off by in-cone DOCC. Design guidelines to mitigate coupled vibrations are generated by correlating design parameter quantifiers and instances of coupled vibrations. Potential drill bit designs are then validated against the generated guidelines in order to mitigate vibration in future drilling runs.

The tubular body defines a tool channel and a plurality of wire conduits formed along the wall of the tubular body. The steerable section includes wire-guiding members arranged in lengthwise direction alternated with void regions. A control wire arranged in a first conduit within the wall of the tubular body is connected to an actuator and transfers an actuating force to bend the steerable section. An electrical cable arranged along the wall of the tubular body has strain relief elements. The strain relief elements are portions of the cable arranged in at least one void region and configured to freely move within the void regions to provide strain relief to the electrical cable when the tubular body bends.
