  • Publication number: 20120222033
Abstract: A work unit (e.g., a load module) to be executed on one processor may be eligible to be offloaded and executed on another processor that is heterogeneous from the one processor. The other processor is heterogeneous in that is has a different computing architecture and/or different instruction set from the one processor. A determination is made as to whether the work unit is eligible for offloading. The determination is based, for instance, on the particular type of instructions (e.g., particular type of service call and/or program call instructions) included in the work unit and whether those types of instructions are supported by the other processor. If the instructions of the work unit are supported by the other processor, then the work unit is eligible for offloading.

Abstract: An endoscope including a deflection section, an objective head, a deflection section cover and a sleeve. The deflection section comprises a flexible frame. The objective head is connected to a front end of the deflection section. The deflection section cover extends over the deflection section and extends over a portion of the objective head. The sleeve is located on an exterior side of the objective head and an exterior side of the deflection section cover at a joint between the objective head and the deflection section cover. The sleeve compresses the deflection section cover against the objective head. Another compression sleeve can be located on an exterior side of a shaft cover and the deflection section cover at a second joint, wherein the second sleeve compresses the shaft cover and the deflection section cover against a frame of a shaft of the endoscope.

  • Publication number: 20110084972
Abstract: One embodiment of the present invention sets forth a technique for executing a software method within a graphics processing unit (GPU) that minimizes the number of clock cycles during which the graphics engine is idled. The function of the software method is performed by a firmware method that is executed by a processor within the GPU. The firmware method is executed to access and optionally update the state stored in the GPU. Unlike execution of a conventional software method, execution of the firmware method does not require an exchange of information between a CPU and the GPU. Therefore, the CPU is not interrupted and throughput of the CPU is not reduced.

  • Patent number: 7342897
Abstract: A network verification tool is presented that allows a user to easily create tasks for a collection of task types. The collection of task types are hosted by probe network devices that are coupled to a network under test. The network under test includes network devices executing generic network software and particular hardware or software that is being tested. The probe network devices are coupled to an NVT server, which transmits tasks to the task types and interfaces with one or more NVT clients. The NVT clients can create tasks by entering the appropriate parameters within templates supplied by the NVT server. Any collection of task types can be included in the network verification tool, including traffic generators, traffic analyzers, large network emulators, session emulators, device queries and script tasks.
