  • Publication number: 20190360943
Abstract: A method of inspecting for micro-cracks in a coated piece that includes a substrate and a coating, the method comprising generating a responsive spectral response from an area of inspection of the coated piece by irradiating at least a portion of the coated piece, the area of inspection being less than a predetermined nominal dimension of a micro-crack, and analyzing the responsive spectral response to determine whether a micro-crack exists in the coating, including by comparing the responsive spectral response to one or more predetermined spectral values to determine whether the responsive spectral response corresponds to a response associated with a substrate such as the substrate in the coated piece.

  • Publication number: 20090308775
Abstract: A child-resistant package including two panels having one or more blister apertures and a particular manner of accessing the product within the blister apertures. One manner of accessing the product involves applying pressure to punch tabs defined by staggered perforations. Another manner of accessing the product uses tooled access slots designed to receive a tool to peel away tab strips to facilitate product access. Yet another manner of accessing utilizes tab strips, one or more folding lines and one or more crevice forming lines where the crevice forming lines are designed to receive a tool used to obtain access to the tab strips, and thus, facilitate access to the products. Still another uses dual tabs that need to be sequentially peeled away from the child resistant package housing to facilitate access to the product contained.

  • Patent number: 7401702
Abstract: A package includes a blank having a face panel and a back panel. The face panel includes apertures and face tabs. The back panel includes gates that correspond with apertures, and tab strips that overlap the gates and are adjoined to back tabs. A blister pack is sealed between the face panel and the back panel whereby blisters align over gates and protrude through apertures, and tabs and form a composite pull tab. To remove an item from a blister, the pull tab is pressed out of the panels, the tab strip is peeled from the back panel, and pressure is applied to force the item through the backing sheet of the blister pack and the exposed gate.

  • Publication number: 20080093252
Abstract: A slide card (10) for use with a sleeve of a unit dose packaging system, comprises a base panel (40) adapted for receiving unit doses of a medicament (90), a locking panel (20) joined by a hinge (30) to the base panel (40) and fold-resisting mechanism (30), (70), (80) for inhibiting substantially parallel alignment between the base panel (40) and the locking panel (20) when folded over with respect to one another so as to promote engagement of the locking panel (20) with at least one locking element of the sleeve, thereby inhibiting undesired removal of the base panel (40) from the sleeve when the base panel (40) is attempted to be withdrawn from the sleeve.

  • Publication number: 20070272586
Abstract: A blister and package system (1) made of a blister card (3) and an outer package (5) with unique interacting locking mechanisms (23). The blister card is inserted in the outer package and locks immediately without having to further process the outer package or the blister card. The user is able to expose the blisters from the outer package by disengaging the lock. The blister card includes a formable, pliable sheet material (7), into which one or more individual cavities or blisters (9) are formed. The separated cavities are loaded with product (11) and sealed with one or more layers of puncturable or tearable sheet material, such as aluminum foil (13). The blister card contains a stop (21), which may be one or more additional cavities that form an interference mechanism, or an interference blister cavity. The interference blister is trapped by a locking mechanism and stopped by a catch flap (41) included in the outer package.

  • Publication number: 20070261990
Abstract: A carton assembly has a carton having an interior that has inner walls defining a tray portion and an insert disposed within the tray portion for retaining an article within the interior of the carton. Either the tray portion or the insert, or both, include a receiving structure for supporting the insert. The insert may have a substantially hollow beam structure. The hollow beam structure of the insert has an open end that is engaged by a tab or tabs extending from an inner wall or walls of the carton. A center panel extends between each tab and the bottom wall of the carton and engages the open end of the hollow beam.

  • Publication number: 20070068843
Abstract: A package includes a slide card that can be releasably locked in an outer sleeve. The slide card includes an engaging tab that provides part of a locking mechanism that is used to lock the slide card in the outer sleeve. A support element is positioned and secured to the slide card to maintain the resilience of the slide card at a hinged connection between the engaging tab and a base panel along a fold line. The support element is dimensioned and positioned to define a minimum angle between the engaging tab and the base panel. Thereby, the resiliency of the slide card is not compromised as the engaging tab is repeatedly folded or depressed toward the base panel.

  • Publication number: 20070045149
Abstract: A package includes a slide card that is received in an outer sleeve having a false end wall. The false end wall extends between a top wall and a bottom wall to enhance the structural integrity of the outer sleeve. The false end wall provides child resistance in that it prevents a user from manipulating the outer sleeve to inadvertently disengage a locking feature that lockably retains a slide card in the outer sleeve. The false end wall also prevents a user from accessing the slide card through an opening that is created by removing an end wall.
