  • Publication number: 20190376735
Abstract: A product may be stored in a protective container that is surrounded with a fluid. A heat-sensitivity rating for the product may be obtained, and a product energy for the product may be calculated. The calculating may include adjusting the longest dimension of the product based on the heat-sensitivity rating and defining a sphere of enthalpy around the product. The sphere's radius may be equal to the adjusted product dimension and the sphere may be centered at the product center. The calculating may also comprise multiplying the volume of the sphere by the air pressure inside the protective container. An environmental condition within the sphere during a first time period may be forecasted. It may be determined that the product is likely to deteriorate during the first time period based on the product energy and heat-sensitivity rating. The altitude of the protective container may be altered to mitigate this deterioration.

  • Publication number: 20190379625
Abstract: A method, computer program product, and a system where a processor(s) monitors a mailbox in an electronic mail system to identify a message destined for the mailbox. Based on identifying the message destined for the mailbox, the processor(s) apply contextual language analyses to parse content of the message (a header and a body of the message) to identify patterns in the content that indicate a temporal validity period for the message. The processor(s) determine, based on identifying the patterns, the temporal validity period for the message and associate an expiration date with the message, the expiration date coincides with an end of the temporal validity period. The processor(s) expire the message, at the expiration date.

  • Patent number: 10454990
Abstract: An approach is provided for managing a quality of service (QoS). It is determined that a user communicates with a first video conference participant and no other participant(s). A cognitive focus of attention model is generated. The cognitive focus of attention is a region of a display presenting the video conference that includes a face of the first participant. The model specifies a peripheral vision resolution of the user. First and second actual QoS of other regions and the region, respectively, are generated. Based on the model and the first and second actual QoS, an adjustment to the first actual QoS is determined, without adjusting the second actual QoS, and while maintaining unchanged a perceived QoS. A resolution of the other regions is matched to the peripheral vision resolution by delaying or dropping packets that specify the other regions, which reduces a video bit rate of the other regions.

  • Publication number: 20190317748
Abstract: A method and system for improving a machine learning multimedia conversion process is provided. The method includes automatically connecting hardware devices to a server hardware device. Audio and/or video data from a meeting between individuals is recorded form a location and each individual is identified via sensor data. Attributes for each user are identified and the audio and/or video data is converted to text data. Portions of the text data are analyzed and associated with each individual. Action items in the text data are identified and assigned to the individuals based on the attributes. Self-learning software code for executing future multimedia conversion processes is generated based on the assigning and the self-learning software code is modified based on results of executing the future multimedia conversion processes.

  • Patent number: 10387241
Abstract: A computer-implemented embodiment heals an information technology (IT) system. A cognitive computing hardware system receives an error history log that describes a history of past errors that have occurred in the IT system. The cognitive computing hardware system receives a listing of alternative IT systems that have been predetermined to have a same functionality as the IT system and that have a history of experiencing one or more errors currently being detected in the IT system. The cognitive computing hardware system receives a record of real-time events, which are external to the IT system and which impact a performance of the alternative IT systems. The cognitive computing hardware system generates a prioritized set of solutions to overcome the one or more errors currently being detected in the IT system, based on the error history log, the listing of alternative IT systems, and the record of real-time events.

  • Patent number: 10382959
Abstract: Embodiments described herein provide approaches for associating a user identity to a wireless signal based on information received at an access point. Specifically, when a first user presents a set of user credentials to a physical access point, his/her profile is accessed to authenticate the first user. A set of wireless signals emanating from one or more wireless devices operated by the first user is also received at the physical access point and associated with the first user. Information about the first user may then be broadcast and accessed by a second user (e.g., via his/her mobile device) in proximity to the first user and in receipt of the set of wireless signals associated with the first user.
