  • Patent number: 10812289
Abstract: An example communications device may include communication ports and processing circuitry. The communications device may, when the communication device and peer network nodes are connected in a ring topology to form an access network, detect that a loop exists between the access network and a customer network. In response to detecting the loop, the communication device may automatically block any uplink to the customer network that the communication device may have, and send a message to all of the peer network nodes instructing them to block any uplinks to the customer network they may have.

  • Publication number: 20200305871
Abstract: A staple cartridge for use with a stapling device that has an actuator that is selectively actuatable in an axial direction and an anvil portion that is selectively movable between open and closed positions is disclosed. Various embodiments of the present invention include a cartridge body that movably supports first and second staple drivers. The staple drivers each support a staple thereon and serve to drive the staples into forming contact with the anvil upon actuation by the actuator. The various embodiments of the present invention enable the final formed heights of the staples to be varied so as to apply various clamping forces and pressures to soft tissue captured within the staples. In at least one embodiment, the staples can include crowns formed thereon which can be utilized to adjust or control the clamping force and/or pressure applied by the staples.

  • Publication number: 20200255457
Abstract: A process for the selective removal of a component from a liquid phase and subsequently returning the component to a liquid phase is disclosed. A novel compound of formula I [SUP]-[[L]-[G]]a (I) in which L is a linking group, G is an aryl group having a leaving group LG selected from Cl, Br, I, sulfonate such as triflate, a diazo group, a nitrile, an ester and an alkoxy group and substituent Q is selected from H, NR2, OR, CO2R, F, Cl, NO2 CN and SUP is a support having a plurality of groups -[L]-[G] bound to the support is contacted with the liquid phase to bind the component to the compound I thereby forming a captured component which is separated from and may be returned to the liquid phase. The compound I is especially useful in binding homogeneous catalysts to remove it from a reaction medium and selectively returning the catalyst to the reaction medium at a later stage. The compound is particularly useful for cross-coupling reactions, for example in Suzuki reactions.

  • Patent number: 10742493
Abstract: Remote configuration of network interface cards (NICs) on appliances of a scaleable compute resource such as a frame-based system is disclosed. Frames may include a frame link module (FLM). Remote configuration of NICs may allow for multiple networks to be maintained in physical or logical isolation from each other. For example, a management data network may be maintained independently of an application data network. An FLM CPU may detect an appliance, validate compatibility for the appliance, a midplane, a PHY connection, etc. Commands from the FLM CPU may configure the independent networks. Independent networks may provide redundancy and segregation by data type. A controller area network (CAN) bus may deliver configuration commands to a NIC of an attached appliance. Air gap equivalent isolation of networks based on type of network may be achieved while maintaining redundancy of networks to address potential failure of individual components.

  • Publication number: 20200244516
Abstract: Systems and methods address automated ring owner selection for a ring topology network. A new ring owner may be selected based on failure of a current ring owner. The new ring owner may assume a ring ownership role by a) detecting a missing Ownership Select Message (OSM); b) detecting missing Continuity Check Protocol (CCP) messages; and c) determining that the current ring owner is an adjacent network module connected via an external link of a management network. A signal fail (SF) condition may also be present. Upon detection of adequate role changing conditions, a new ring owner may assume a ring ownership role, transmit an OSM and possibly select a new active uplink.

  • Publication number: 20200138063
Abstract: The invention relates to sweetening compositions obtained from the Luo Han Guo fruit, a member of the Cucurbiticeae family. The compositions are free of bitter-tasting impurities, have a light colour and contain about 16-75% mogroside V and about 30-95% total terpene glycosides on a dry weight basis. A filtered (0.2 ?m) solution of the composition in water with a solids content of 1% w/v has an absorbance at 420 nm of about 0.55 or below. Also disclosed is a method of preparing such compositions which includes a heating step to encourage the formation of melanoidins, highly coloured impurities, thereby permitting their removal by filtration providing a lighter coloured product.

  • Patent number: 10623422
Abstract: Detecting a foreign device is connected between what are expected to be directly connected network modules may present a network security concern. Disclosed is a protocol and method for detecting that an unexpected (i.e., foreign) device is in an unexpected location in a network path. For example, connected between two network nodes that are expected to be directly connected to each other. Scalable compute resources may rely on direct network connectivity to provide high availability, throughput, and security. Accordingly, determining a foreign device exists in the network path between two frame link modules (FLMs), for example, may address this need for security and reliability. A device connected to sniff network data may not advertise itself to the network and therefore may be actively detected using the disclosed methods.
