Patent number: 9942390Abstract: First call identification information is stored at a network-connected device. The first call identification information identifies a call between an initiating device connected to an Internet Protocol (IP)-based network and a called device connected to the IP-based network. The call identified by the first call identification information is established through a telephone carrier network. Second call identification information is stored in the network-connected device. A determination is made that the first call identification information and the second call identification information identify the call from the initiating device to the called device. The call is connected through the IP-based network so as to avoid the telephone carrier network based upon the determining that the first call identification information and the second call identification information identify the call.Type: GrantFiled: November 23, 2015Date of Patent: April 10, 2018Assignee: Cisco Technology, Inc.Inventor: Christopher Pearce

Publication number: 20170052502Abstract: A print head can collect toner and contamination during use in an image forming device. A Customer Replaceable Unit (CRU) moves across the face of the print head when withdrawn. A cleaning unit, which can be a silicone blade, foam pad or other suitable material, is attached or integral to the CRU such that when the CRU is withdrawn the cleaning unit wipes the surface of the print head. Insertion of the original CRU or a new CRU would again wiped the cleaning unit over the lens surface providing the required cleaning action. Accordingly, this cleaning operation happens automatically when the CRU is replaced, and also the CRU can be pulled out and re-inserted to perform the cleaning operation if contamination is detected or at other maintenance points.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 20, 2015Publication date: February 23, 2017Inventors: Christopher PEARCE, Michael J. Patent number: 9363368Abstract: In one embodiment, a communication is established between two endpoints. The communication session may be a video call or an audio call. The communication session may be managed by a call manager using, for example, voice over internet protocol and session initiation protocol. One of the endpoints initiates recording the communication session. The call manager facilitates recording the communication session based on a recording policy associated with the initiating endpoint. The recording policy may specify far end recording, near end recording, or a prioritized order of far and near end recording. The call manager selected an anchor network device for copying the communication session based on the recording policy.Type: GrantFiled: October 8, 2013Date of Patent: June 7, 2016Assignee: Cisco Technology, Inc.Inventors: Christopher Pearce, Shipeng Li, George Gary
