  • Publication number: 20160245618
Abstract: A sight assembly for mounting to a weapon. A holographic optical element and a light source are in a fixed angular configuration with respect to one another, but may be adjusted either together or individually in a horizontal or vertical direction. The sight assembly may have a mirror or lens. An adjustment mechanism is provided where a shaft includes at least two portions wherein the two portions of the shaft of the screw have different pitch directions and/or pitch dimensions allowing for slight adjustment the assembly. The light source may be a vertical-cavity surface emitting laser (VCSEL). A temperature sensor may sense a temperature of the VCSEL. A current to the VCSEL may be adjusted based on a change in the temperature such that the output wavelength is approximately the same as a desired wavelength. The assembly may further allow for perceived image distance adjustment using parallax mismatch.

  • Patent number: 9424167
Abstract: A system for automatically testing an application system graphical user interface (GUI) includes first and second application servers communicatively connected across a communication network. The second application server retrieves a GUI page provided by the first application server as part of the application system, and identifies text elements and user input objects in an image of the retrieved GUI page. Each user input object is then associated with a text element. Test parameter values are retrieved from a database storing test parameter data, and the application system is tested. In particular, for each user input object of the GUI page, a respective test parameter value is provided that is associated in the database with a same text element as is associated with the user input object. A response of the application system is then monitored.

  • Patent number: 9415495
Abstract: Disclosed is a novel nail removing tool that requires lower force to remove an embedded nail from a substrate than nail remover tools currently in use via use of a sliding fulcrum. The disclosed nail remover tool also minimizes damage to the substrate as the nail is being removed from the substrate via use of a dimple for facilitating access of the tool to a nail head.

  • Publication number: 20160197785
Abstract: An access point information handling system (IHS) group management system includes a group management IHS that is coupled to a plurality of access point IHSs through a network. The group management IHS receives a group request from a first access point IHS, then retrieves group configuration information from the group configuration database using information about the first access point IHS, and uses the group configuration information to determine an access point IHS group. The access point IHS group includes the first access point IHS and at least one second access point IHS. The group management IHS then determines an access point IHS group controller that is one of the first access point IHS and the at least one second access point IHS. The group management IHS then identifies the access point IHS group and the access point IHS group controller to the first access point IHS.

  • Publication number: 20160154715
Abstract: An access point IHS group controller failover system includes a first access point IHS group controller that controls a first access point IHS group that includes plurality of access point IHSs. Following a failure of the first access point IHS group controller, the first access point IHS broadcasts a first access point IHS identifier to a first subset of the plurality of access point IHSs. The first access point IHS then registers the first subset of the plurality of access point IHSs as members of a second access point IHS group, and controls at least some functions of the second access point IHS group. When the first access point IHS detects activity from the first access point IHS group controller, it instructs the first subset of the plurality of access point IHSs in the second access point IHS group to reconnect to the first access point IHS group controller.

  • Publication number: 20160154722
Abstract: An access point IHS group controller failure notification system includes access point IHSs connected to a network and members of an access point IHS group. A first access point IHS group controller for the access point IHS group is also coupled to the network. The first access point IHS group controller detects a failure issue associated with its imminent failure and, in response, creates an imminent failure message that includes an identifier for the first access point IHS group controller. The imminent failure message may also include timing information that indicates when the first access point IHS group controller will again be available, and/or a second identifier for a second access point IHS group controller that is available for controlling the access point IHS group. The first access point IHS group controller then sends the imminent failure message through the network to each of the plurality of access point IHSs.

  • Patent number: 9342620
Abstract: A method and apparatus for improving loading of web resources. A server receives a request for a Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) document requested by a client network application. The server retrieves the requested document. The server automatically modifies objects referenced in the HTML document that have an external source such that loading of those objects by the client network application will be deferred. The server inserts a client-side script loader or a reference to the client-side script loader into the HTML document. The client-side script loader is configured to, when executed by the client network application, attempt to load the objects that have been deferred. The server transmits the modified HTML document to the client network application.

  • Patent number: 9305371
Abstract: Among other things, one or more techniques and/or systems are provided for defining transition zones for navigating a visualization. The visualization may be constructed from geometry of a scene and one or more texture images depicted the scene from various viewpoints. A transition zone may correspond to portions of the visualization that do not have a one-to-one correspondence with a single texture image, but are generated from textured geometry (e.g., a projection of texture imagery onto the geometry). Because a translated view may have visual error (e.g., a portion of the translated view is not correctly represented by the textured geometry), one or more transition zones, specifying translated view experiences (e.g., unrestricted view navigation, restricted view navigation, etc.), may be defined. For example, a snapback force may be applied when a current view corresponds to a transition zone having a relatively higher error.

  • Publication number: 20160065684
Abstract: A request is received at a proxy server for a web page, the request originating from a client network application of a client device. The requested web page includes multiple references to multiple images. The proxy server retrieves the requested web page. The proxy server modifies code of the retrieved web page such that the client network application will not, for each one of images, request that image until the location where that image is to be displayed is within a viewport of the client network application or within a defined distance from the viewport of the client network application. The proxy server transmits the modified web page to the client device.

  • Publication number: 20160058268
Abstract: The specification describes endoscopes that enable varying stiffness of an insertion portion in an endoscope assembly. In one example, an actuator operates either a spring or a flexible tube to vary stiffness of the insertion portion. In alternative examples, an elliptical wheel arrangement or screw mechanism provides a means to increase stiffness of the insertion portion of an endoscope assembly. In further examples, fluid and gas may be used inside the insertion potion to vary stiffness by varying pressure of the fluid/gas.

The requested web page includes multiple references to multiple images. The proxy server retrieves the requested web page. The proxy server modifies code of the retrieved web page such that the client network application will not, for each one of those images, initially request those images when parsing the page. The proxy server also adds code to the retrieved web page that, when executed by the client network application, causes at least two of the images to be requested with a single request. The proxy server transmits the modified web page to the client device.

  • Publication number: 20150339213
