  • Patent number: 10099044
Abstract: A device for delivery of a substance (144) using energy to protect, at a site of activation, against a side effect of another substance (156) that was delivered, is being delivered, and/or will be delivered, at another site. The activation may be non-invasive, remote and the energy beam (140) may be an ultrasound beam. A first of the substances can be activated at a particular energy level, and the second is then activated at a lower level so that a population of particles bearing the first substance is not inadvertently activated during activation of the second substance. The device may comprise a system to control the levels of energy applied.

  • Publication number: 20180288002
Abstract: An application-policy-based SDN controller system includes a first device running a first application, and a second device. Each of the first device and the second device are coupled to a SDN network via one of a plurality of networking devices in the SDN network. A first virtual application-policy-based SDN controller determines a first application communication flow path through the SDN network for first application communications that are between the first device and the second device and that involve the first application. The first virtual application-policy-based SDN controller then provides at least one application-policy-based flow rule to a first subset of the plurality of networking devices that are included in the first application communication flow path.

  • Publication number: 20180232293
Abstract: When a USB device that supports multiple streams is redirected, a multi-channel environment can be established in which each USB stream is associated with a separate network connection. As a result, each USB stream will be transferred over the network in its own connection and therefore the data transfer can be carried out in an out-of-order fashion and with speeds that better approximate those provided by the USB SuperSpeed feature. To handle the routing of URBs to the appropriate network connection, the virtual desktop infrastructure can implement a lookup table to associate a stream's handle with a particular network connection.

  • Publication number: 20180234502
Abstract: VDI sessions and virtualized devices can be prioritized in Software-Defined Networks. A server-side agent can communicate with a management server to provide VDI session details indicative of how the VDI session is being employed. The management server can then update a flow table in a Software-Defined Network based on the VDI session details. In this way, the network traffic pertaining to a VDI session can be prioritized based on how the VDI session is being used. A flow table can also be updated in conjunction with commencing or completing an imaging process.

  • Publication number: 20180138752
Abstract: A wireless power receiver is presented that allows for positioning of the receiver with respect to a transmitter coil. The receiver can base alignment information on the wireless power received from the transmit coil. In some embodiments, a secondary detector such as a beacon can be used to provide a direction towards alignment. The power receiver may include a receiver coil, a power detector configured to determine a power level received by the receiver coil, and a processor coupled to receive the power level from the power detector and provide an indication of the power level.

  • Publication number: 20180130213
Abstract: The following relates generally to image segmentation. In one aspect, an image is received and preprocessed. The image may then be classified as segmentable if it is ready for segmentation; if not, it may be classified as not segmentable. Multiple, parallel segmentation processes may be performed on the image. The result of each segmentation process may be marked as a potential success (PS) or a potential failure (PF). The results of the individual segmentation processes may be evaluated in stages. An overall failure may be declared if a percentage of the segmentation processes marked as PF reaches a predetermined threshold.

  • Patent number: 9917730
Abstract: A peer-to-peer wireless controller topology provisioning system includes plurality of networking devices. A plurality of peer-to-peer wireless controllers are included in each networking device and are each configured to control a portion of a single wireless link with another peer-to-peer wireless controller. A management subsystem determines relative locations for each of the networking devices, and a number of peer-to-peer wireless controllers available in each of the networking devices. The management subsystem then uses a maximum hop constraint and a minimum bandwidth constraint to generate a peer-to-peer wireless controller topology for at least some of the peer-to-peer wireless controllers that are available in the networking devices.

  • Patent number: 9917762
Abstract: A microburst monitoring system includes a port and a memory system with an egress queue and a shadow queue that are associated with the port. A networking engine is coupled to the port and the memory system and configured to receive and process packets to provide egress frames for forwarding through the port. The networking engine then stores the egress frames in the egress queue, and stores information about each of the egress frames in the shadow queue. When the networking device determines that the storage of the egress frames has caused the egress queue to reach a threshold, the networking device causes the information about each of the egress frames in the egress queue to be captured, and that captured information may be analyzed to determine a source device that is generating at least some of the packets to be throttled.

  • Publication number: 20180016887
Abstract: An apparatus for measuring a well bore wall comprises a casing connectable in line with a tool string having a central passage therethrough and extending between first and second ends and a plurality of longitudinally extending biasing elements extending longitudinally along the casing between first and second ends wherein each of the second end of the biasing elements is connected to the casing. The apparatus further comprises a sensor located along a midpoint of each of the biasing elements and an engagement body located within the central passage of the casing longitudinally displaceable therein between first and second positions, wherein the engagement body is connected to the first end of each of the biasing elements such that displacement of the engagement body within the central passage from the first to the second positions compresses and radially extends the biasing elements so as to engage the sensors against the well bore wall.

  • Publication number: 20170368468
Abstract: A system and method to vaporize a process or feed water stream does so in a liquid pool zone of a vessel as the stream comes into contact with a heating medium that is less volatile than the process stream. To keep the pool hot, the heating medium can be recirculated through a heater of a pump-around loop or a heater can be placed in the liquid pool. As the process stream is vaporized, any solids present in the process stream come out of the process stream and move into the heating medium. These solids may be further removed from the heating medium in the pool or in the pump-around loop. The vaporized process stream can be further condensed. Any heat recovered can be used to pre-heat the process stream or used in the pump around loop's heater in case of mechanical vapor recovery.

  • Publication number: 20170368469
Abstract: A system and method to partially vaporize a process or feed water stream does so in a liquid pool zone of a vessel as the stream comes into contact with a heating medium that is less volatile than the process stream. To keep the pool hot, the heating medium can be recirculated through a heater of a pump-around loop or a heater can be placed in the liquid pool. As the process stream is partially vaporized, any solids present in the process stream together with the unvaporized process or feed water stream move into the heating medium. These solids and unvaporized liquids may be further removed from the heating medium in the pool or in the pump-around loop. The vaporized process stream can be further condensed. Any heat recovered can be used to pre-heat the process stream or in the pump-around loop's heater in case of mechanical vapor recovery.

  • Publication number: 20170368470
Abstract: A system and method to desalinate a feed water stream does so in a liquid pool zone of a vessel as the stream comes into contact with a heating medium that is less volatile than the feed water stream. To keep the pool hot, the heating medium can be recirculated through a heater of a pump-around loop or a heater can be placed in the liquid pool. • Publication number: 20170368471
Abstract: A system and method to reboil a process or feed water stream in a distillation system does so in a liquid pool zone of a vessel as the stream is removed from a distillation column and comes into contact with a heating medium that is immiscible with and less volatile than the process stream. To keep the pool hot, the heating medium can be recirculated through a heater of a pump-around loop or a heater can be placed in the liquid pool. As the process stream is partially vaporized, any solids present in the process stream together with the unvaporized process or feed water stream move into the heating medium.
