  • Publication number: 20080017948
Abstract: A semiconductor structure includes a first high-voltage well (HVW) region of a first conductivity type overlying a substrate, a second HVW region of a second conductivity type opposite the first conductivity type overlying the substrate and laterally adjoining the first HVW region, and a third HVW region of the second conductivity type underlying the second HVW region. A region underlying the first HVW region is substantially free from the third HVW region, wherein the third HVW region has a bottom lower than a bottom of the first HVW region. The semiconductor structure further includes an insulation region in a portion and extending from a top surface of the first HVW region into the first HVW region, a gate dielectric extending from over the first HVW region to over the second HVW region wherein the gate dielectric has a portion over the insulation region, and a gate electrode on the gate dielectric.

  • Publication number: 20070063250
Abstract: A split gate field effect transistor is fabricated with a sidewall of a control gate electrode aligned with a sidewall of a floating gate electrode. The aligned sidewalls are on a side of the split gate field effect transistor device opposite the control gate electrode channel of the split gate field effect transistor device. The aligned sidewalls provide for enhanced performance of the split gate field effect transistor device.

  • Patent number: 7167422
Abstract: An optical recording apparatus includes an optical pickup unit for generating and directing optical signals onto a given optical medium, and for detecting corresponding reflected optical signals from the optical medium; a focus motor for moving a focusing lens on the optical pickup according to a focus signal for adjusting a defocus of the optical signals on the optical medium; and a focus controller for generating the focus signal. During write operations of the optical recording apparatus, the focus controller is for performing write defocus calibration on the given optical medium to determine an optimal write defocus value for the optical medium. If the optical medium has multiple layers, the write defocus calibration is performed on a particular layer of the optical disc toward which write operations are directed. If the optimal defocus write value is different than a starting write defocus value, an updated write defocus value is stored.

  • Publication number: 20060139019
Abstract: The present invention discloses a DC-to-DC step-up converter to which a logic control unit is added in order to reduce the ripples of a DC output voltage and improve the power quality. The converter of the present invention comprises a step-up circuit, a ring oscillator, a divider circuit, a PFM (pulse frequency modulation) comparator and a logic control unit. The step-up circuit is used to step up a source voltage to generate a DC output voltage. The ring oscillator is used to generate an oscillator output signal. The divider circuit receives the DC output voltage to generate a feedback voltage. The PFM comparator compares the feedback voltage with a reference voltage to generate a comparator output signal to control outputting of the oscillator output signal.

  • Publication number: 20040156298
Abstract: A heat dissipation system for an optical disk drive having a spindle motor, a circuit board, an IC and a bottom cover. The spindle motor has a rotating shaft with a fixing end. The heat dissipation system includes a fixing plate, a frame, a fan, a guide pipe and a guide channel. The spindle motor is disposed on the fixing plate having a through hole and at least one fixing hole. The fixing end of the rotating shaft passes through the through hole. The frame is disposed on the fixing plate and has at least one fixing portion with a predetermined thickness. The fan has a center connected to the fixing end. The guide pipe is disposed between the frame and circuit board to embrace the fan. The guide channel is closely disposed between the circuit board and bottom cover and extends from the circuit board to the IC.
