  • Patent number: 5947553
Abstract: A folding chair includes front and rear leg frames which are pivotally connected to a seat frame, a backrest frame having a lower end portion pivoted to the rear leg frame, a pair of armrest members which have front ends pivoted to the front leg frame and rear ends pivoted to the backrest frame, and a pair of connecting rods which have front ends pivoted to the front portion of the seat frame and rear ends pivoted the backrest frame. A pair of locking plates are fixedly attached to the backrest frame and have lower portions which are movable towards two side tubes of the seat frame when the chair is unfolded. The side tubes of the seat frame are provided with resilient protrusions which are automatically engageable with engaging slots of the locking plates, respectively, when the chair is unfolded, thereby eliminating the need to operate the locking plates during folding and unfolding operations.

  • Patent number: 5931526
Abstract: A chair frame includes a backrest frame, a seat frame pivoted to the backrest frame about a first pivot axis, and a rear leg frame extending downwardly from the rear end portion of the seat frame. A regulating seat is mounted on the rear leg frame and has two opposite side walls that define an elongated slot therebetween. One of the side walls is formed with a plurality of engaging grooves that open toward the elongated slot. An armrest frame has a front section extending forwardly of the backrest frame, and a rear section that extends rearwardly and downwardly of the backrest frame and that is pivoted to the backrest frame about a second pivot axis above the first pivot axis. The armrest frame is provided with an engaging member that extends slidably into the elongated slot for engaging a selected one of the engaging grooves.

  • Patent number: 5927811
Abstract: An adjustable armrest assembly includes an elongated connector and an armrest member which has a top armrest wall and two substantially parallel rail members on two opposite sides of the top armrest wall to slidably engage the elongated connector. A locking mechanism has a dog member which is connected to the rail members and which is engagable with the elongated connector for locking the armrest member against movement relative to the elongated connector after the armrest member is moved to a desired position relative to the elongated connector. A base is adapted to be fixed to a chair, and has a rotary shaft mounted thereon. A rotary seat is mounted rotatably on the rotary shaft and is connected to the elongated connector. A resilient engaging member resiliently protrudes upward from the base to selectively engage holes of the rotary seat for adjustably holding the rotary seat at a selected angular position relative to the base.

  • Patent number: 5899525
Abstract: A foldable chair frame includes a seat frame, a front leg frame, a backrest frame with two lateral rods mounted pivotally to the seat frame, and an armrest frame with two armrest bars disposed adjacent to opposite lateral sides of the seat frame. Each of the armrest bars has a front section which extends forwardly of the backrest frame, and a rear section which extends downwardly from the front section and which is mounted pivotally to a rear end portion of the seat frame posterior to the backrest frame. A locking unit includes a locking seat fixed to one of the armrest bars and formed with an engaging hole, and a locking member having a ring portion sleeved rotatably and slidably on an adjacent one of the lateral rods, and a radial outward latch projection which is provided with a downwardly extending insert section.

  • Patent number: 5855409
Abstract: A foldable chair frame includes a backrest frame, a seat frame and an armrest member pivoted to the backrest frame, a front leg frame pivoted to the seat frame and the armrest member, and a rear leg frame disposed adjacent to the seat frame and pivoted to the armrest member. A rail member is mounted on the rear leg frame and is formed with an elongated guiding groove which opens toward the seat frame and which has an upper portion with a lateral locking section. A slide member projects transversely from the seat frame and extends rotatably into the guiding groove, and is movable slidably along the guiding groove to couple pivotally the seat frame and the rear leg frame. A releasable locking unit is mounted on the rail member at the upper portion of the guiding groove. The locking unit permits movement of the slide member into the locking section when unfolding the chair frame, and arrests movement of the slide member out of the locking section so as to position the chair frame in the unfolded state.
