  • Publication number: 20020154346
Abstract: A scanning head module is provided. A photosensitive detector and a processing circuit are integrated in one module and installed on a main board so that a signal transmission line and a driving device for driving the processing circuit between the photosensitive detector and the processing circuit could be removed. Thus, the electrical magnetic interference (EMI) of the output signal of the photosensitive detector is significantly eliminated. The shielding of the scanning module for preventing electrical magnetic interference is also simplified.

  • Publication number: 20020154343
Abstract: The present invention provides a method and a system of display interface for an image copy machine. The system comprises a preview module for displaying previewed digital pictures. A preferred module is for storing several settings, such as resolution or brightness that are corresponding to the previewed digital pictures. A control module is for commanding the image copy machine to translate image data into an objective digital picture. The method comprises previewing multitudes of previewed pictures on a display device for the objective image. An objective picture is generated for the objective image. The corresponding objective settings are added to the corresponding previewed settings. Users can get the objective picture without knowing the corresponding settings.

  • Publication number: 20020154340
Abstract: The present invention provides a mapping method and apparatus of look-up table in an imaging system. The mapping method implemented by the apparatus comprises receiving a digital signal having a high-bit portion and a low-bit portion. The high-bit portion of the digital signal is subjected to a curve table for look-up mapping to get a high-bit signal. The partial high-bit portion is subjected to a slope table for getting a factor. The low-bit portion of the digital signal is calculated with the factor to get a low-bit signal. The high-bit signal is combined with the low-bit signal to get an output signal. The curve table and slope curve can reduce the memory usage of the imaging system.

  • Publication number: 20020140581
Abstract: A key switch signal recognition circuit including a plurality of key switch buttons, a plurality of key switch signal output lines, and a plurality of key switch button contact areas is disclosed. Each of the key switch contact areas includes a first wire set and a second wire set. The first wire set has at least one wire, and each wire of the first wire set has one end connected to a common line and an opposite end forming an open end. The second wire set has at least one wire respectively disposed in parallel to and electrically insulated from the wire of the first wire set. The wire of the second wire set is respectively connected to a key switch signal output line.

  • Publication number: 20020118401
Abstract: A dynamically focusing method for an image scanning device is disclosed. Prior to a formal scanning of the image scanning device, a series of pre-scan processes are performed to obtain a set of optimal focus data of the document to be scanned. The pre-scan processes include steps of selecting a focusing reference surface and a preset focusing interval of the document, and moving the optic scanning module in a first direction to pre-scan the document. A focus-adjusting driving mechanism drives the optic scanning module to move in a second direction with respect to the focusing reference surface during the scanning of the optic scanning module, based on the preset focusing interval, to obtain a set of optimal focus data of the document. The optimal focus data obtained is further stored in a memory.

  • Publication number: 20020114024
Abstract: A scanner message display system and method thereof, for sending a message from the main control device to the scanner that displays the message. More particularly, the scanner message display system involves a main program, a memory and a display device. More specifically, the main program is in the main control device and detects the language and detects the selected message from the user. The message item provides the full text message, the font and the icon. The language is either detected from the main control program, or selected by the user. The memory is in the main control device and couples to the main control program and stores the message when the scanner is operating. The display device is on the scanner surface and displays the message that is stored in the memory.

  • Publication number: 20020080421
Abstract: A dual direction driving apparatus and method for driving an optical scanning module of an image scanning device are provided. The driving apparatus includes a first driving mechanism installed in the scanner and a second driving mechanism installed in the optical scanning module. The first driving mechanism and the second driving mechanism are simultaneously driven in order to drive the optical scanning module to move along a driving direction for performing image scanning on a document to be scanned. The second driving mechanism drives the optical scanning module to move in either the same or opposite direction with respect to the driving direction of the first driving mechanism for responding to different scanning resolution requirements of scanning operations.

  • Patent number: 6344916
Abstract: A method and device for measuring depth of field for scanner includes placing a slant test chart above the scanning board. Scanning the test chart to obtain image of different heights. Dividing the image to multiple zones. Mapping image histogram of each zone to get a maximum and minimum value for calculating Modulation Transfer Function (MFT). Thereby to derive a line graph for depth of field distribution range. Based on that to adjust the CCD and lens to get the optimum focus point.
