  • Patent number: 7348877
Abstract: A system for prompting an on-vehicle wireless communication module in poor communication quality and method thereof, in which the in-car computer starts a wireless communication module to detect the receiving quality thereof and to obtain a detecting signal result during the alert mode of the security controller is set after the ignition switch is switched off, and the in-car computer outputs a voice prompt message when the ignition switch is switched on again if the detecting signal result does not surpass a predetermined receiving quality default value. The in-car computer also stores each poor communication quality location in the electronic map so that a voice prompt message is automatically produced when passing each poor communication quality location on a subsequent occasion.

  • Publication number: 20080010595
Abstract: An in-vehicle computer system includes a host computer, a mode switch and a backup microprocessor. When the host computer functions ordinarily, the mode switch is in a regular mode as a default, and the host computer uses various graphical interfaces on a display to control the operations of electronic devices implemented in a vehicle. The electronic devices can include a digital versatile disc (DVD) player, an MP3 player and a global positioning system (GPS). When a total failure of the computer occurs, the mode switch is switched to a backup mode, and the host computer is replaced by the backup microprocessor to control a backup graphical processor to extract backup graphical interfaces from a backup storage medium for graphical processing and further presentation on the display. Thus, a driver can continuously control the corresponding electronic devices through the backup graphical interfaces on the display.

  • Publication number: 20080008144
Abstract: A mobile video system for vehicles, which includes a wireless receiver, a decoder, a sound device, a display and a controller. The wireless receiver receives a wireless video signal and demodulates the video signal to thereby produce a digital transport stream. The decoder receives and decodes the digital transport stream to thereby produce a video data stream. The controller performs initialization and operating mode settings on the wireless receiver, the decoder, the sound device and the display, and drives the decoder to decode the digital transport stream to thereby produce the video data stream. When the wireless receiver is a detachable wireless receiver, the decoder, the sound device, the display and the controller are integrated into an embedded system.
