  • Patent number: 8916126
Abstract: In a method of fabricating graphite flakes applied in a graphite nanomaterial, mesophase pitch and an organic solvent are used to produce a carbon precursor slurry, and the carbon precursor slurry is coated by a scraper to produce the graphite flakes. Since the method of using natural graphite as a raw material in production requires a number of purification processes to manufacture an expanded graphite powder before the graphite flakes can be produced, and thus the fabricating cost is very high, and other high-priced materials such as polyimide (PI) or graphene also will increase the total cost.

  • Patent number: 8726054
Abstract: A cloud-based energy-saving service system and method are disclosed. The service system and method of this invention use the strong computation capabilities of the cloud computing technology and systems to determine the power consumption policies of the mobile devices and provide the policies to the mobile devices, whereby the mobile devices implement the power consumption policies to save its power consumptions. In one aspect, the invented system and method calculate and determine the backlight level polices for a particular video stream, then provide the policies information to the mobile devices for implementation. The policies information may be provided to the mobile devices independently or along with the video stream. The calculation of the backlight illumination levels may be done in advance or on remand.

  • Publication number: 20130324439
Abstract: A combinatorial elastic modulus-modified microenvironment microarray (eMEArray) platform and methods for cell-based functional screening of interactions with combinatorial microenvironments. The platform and methods allow for simultaneous control of the molecular composition and the elastic modulus, and combines the use of microarray and micropatterning technologies. The eMEArrays have been used to show that the microenvironment has effects on drug-cell interactions and contributes to therapeutic response.

  • Publication number: 20130039015
Abstract: A hanging mechanism is for hanging an electronic device on a support wall. The hanging mechanism includes a fixing pad, first and second linkage rods, first arm and second arm rods, and first and second hanging rods. The fixing pad is detachably fixed onto the electronic device. The first linkage rod is pivoted to a first side of the fixing pad and the first arm rod. The second linkage rod is pivoted to a second side of the fixing pad and the second arm rod. The first hanging rod is pivoted to the first arm rod. The second hanging rod is pivoted to the second arm rod and rotatably intersects with the first hanging rod. The second hanging rod is for hanging on the support wall with the first hanging rod. When the first and second linkage rods rotate relatively, the first and second hanging rods rotate relatively.

  • Publication number: 20080151908
Abstract: A method for information transmission with backbone network and a position monitoring system for multiple robotic devices are provided in the present invention, wherein positions of multiple robotic devices disposed and operated in a widespread area are capable of being monitored. The present invention provides a plurality of positioning and transmitting modules for constructing a backbone network for transmitting position information. The positioning and transmitting modules disposed in the positioning area functions to identify the position of robotic device disposed therein and then report the position information to a central managing unit located in the monitoring center through the backbone network. By means of the foregoing method and system, the monitoring center can monitor the position of the plurality of robotic devices and dispatch orders and assign jobs to those robotic devices in a way of distributed and cooperative multitasking.
