  • Publication number: 20180298277
Abstract: Compositions containing a mixture of microcapsules and a bulk polymer, where the microcapsules have an oil field chemical contained within the microcapsules are described. The microcapsules can be present in a variety of configurations. The microcapsules contain a core or a micro-matrix containing the oil field chemicals. The core or micro-matrix can be surrounded by one or more polymeric shells, where each shell contains at least one polymer that affects the release of the oil field chemical from the composition. The compositions provide for the sustained release of an oil field chemical into fluid in an oil field reservoir over long periods of time. Methods of making the compositions and articles containing the compositions are described. Methods of tracing the movement of fluid in a hydrocarbon reservoir using the compositions, and methods of providing for the sustained release of oil field chemicals are also described.

  • Publication number: 20180298274
Abstract: Oil field chemical delivery fluids containing a mixture of a base fluid and microcapsules having an oil field chemical contained within the microcapsule are described. Chemical groups in the outer surface of the microcapsules interact with the base fluid and promote the dispersibility of the microcapsules in the base fluid. Chemical groups in the outer surface of the microcapsules interact with the targeted areas of a hydrocarbon reservoir and promote the substantivity of the microcapsules to the targeted areas of the reservoir. The oil field chemical delivery fluids provide for the placement of microcapsules in a desired location within the well and/or reservoirs using properties such as the density of the microcapsules. Methods of making oil field chemical delivery fluids, systems containing oil field chemical delivery fluids, methods of fracturing rock in a reservoir and tracing the movement of fluid in a hydrocarbon reservoir using these fluids are described.

  • Publication number: 20180155597
Abstract: Compositions having a core and a coating that covers at least part of the core, where the core comprises a mixture of at least one oil field chemical and at least one core matrix polymer are described. The composition provides a slower release of an oil field chemical into an eluent compared to the release provide by the core. The compositions provide for the controlled release of tracer over long periods of time than is provided by the release from the core. Methods of making the compositions and systems containing the compositions are described. Methods of tracing the movement of fluid in a hydrocarbon reservoir using the compositions and methods of releasing biocides and other well treatment agents into reservoir fluids over time are also described.

  • Publication number: 20150051736
Abstract: A bracket of a robot demonstrator for supporting a tablet computer is disclosed. The bracket includes a bar linkage assembly, a first clamping member pivoted with the bar linkage assembly, and a second clamping member positioned opposite to the first clamping member and pivoted with the bar linkage assembly. A distance between the first clamping member and the second clamping member can be adjusted via adjusting a length of the bar linkage assembly for clamping and supporting the tablet computer.

  • Patent number: 8747999
Abstract: The present invention related to (micro-or nano-) capsules that have two different functional groups on the outer shell of the particles that allow deposition onto the textile surfaces (i.e. exhibit substantivity) and subsequent covalent bonding of the particles onto the textile (i.e. are reactive towards the fiber).

  • Patent number: 8679629
Abstract: A microcapsule comprising a core containing a hydrophobic liquid or wax within a polymeric shell, in which solid particles insoluble in the hydrophobic liquid or wax are distributed throughout the core, wherein an oil soluble dispersant polymer is adhered to the surface of the solid insoluble particles. Processes of obtaining the microcapsules and dispersions of microcapsules in a liquid are claimed. The microcapsules can be used in a variety of applications particularly in the field of thermal energy storage. Suitably the microcapsules can be designed to have a particular density and can be used in the transfer fluids where the density of the microcapsules are the same as the carrier fluid.

  • Publication number: 20100168275
Abstract: A microcapsule comprising a hydrophobic core within a polymeric shell, in which the core comprises: (a) 10 to 65% by weight of a hydrocarbon liquid or hydrocarbon wax containing hydrocarbon molecules of between 10 and 24 carbon chain length; and (b) 35 to 90% by weight of an aliphatic acid containing at least 6 carbon atoms, based on the total weight of the core. The microcapsules are suitable for use in heat storage systems and especially in heat transfer systems were it is normally necessary for the density of the microcapsules and the carrier fluid to be essentially the same.
