  • Publication number: 20070154957
Abstract: This application relates to a newly identified animal cell structure, the midbody scar. This structure is a remnant of the midbody that is retained by one daughter cell following cytokinesis and persists through multiple subsequent cell cycles. The midbody scar can be useful as a marker of dividing cells or of a cell's replicative age.

  • Publication number: 20060080691
Abstract: An optical disk drive with a protected pick-up unit. The optical disk drive includes a core body, a guide bar, a pick-up unit and an impact-reducing mechanism. The core body has an operating zone. The guide bar is connected to the core body. The pick-up unit is movably supported by the guide bar to access an optical disk in the operating zone. The impact-reducing mechanism is disposed outside the operating zone to sustain impact of the pick-up unit when the pick-up unit moves outside the operating zone and collides with the impact-reducing mechanism.

  • Patent number: 6996834
Abstract: A disk drive with an ejection apparatus having a locking pin and a latch is provided. The locking pin is movably disposed on the tray while the latch is rotatably disposed on the housing. The latch includes a blocking part and a guiding part. When a tray is received in the disk drive, the blocking part of the latch engages with the locking pin. When the tray is ejected, the tray is pushed toward the inner space of the housing. Subsequently, the locking pin escapes from the blocking part and moves to the guiding part of the latch. The locking pin moves along the guiding part and therefore the tray is ejected.

  • Publication number: 20060011726
Abstract: A micro bar code and a recognition system and method thereof are provided. The micro bar code has a plurality of nanounits disposed thereon in a predetermined arrangement, wherein each of the nanounits has a plurality of nanomolecules provided in a predetermined arrangement. In the recognition system and method, a sensing module senses the arrangement of the nanounits and nanomolecules on the micro bar code. The sensing result from the sensing module is transmitted to an operating module and then inputted to a bar code database that stores information corresponding to arrangement of each set of nanounits and nanomolecules, so as to recognize information on the micro bar code to be recognized. Finally, the recognition result is transmitted back to the operating module for recording. The micro bar code has advantages of small size and large data storage capacity.

  • Publication number: 20040210917
Abstract: A disc drive is disclosed. The disc drive comprises a tray, a bracket connected to the tray, a lever pivotally connected to the bracket, a latching member pivotally connected to the lever, a solenoid connected to the bracket and movably connected with the lever, a stopper engaged with the latching member to lock the tray, and a rail. The latching member has a first protrusive portion. The rail has a concave portion and a second protrusive portion. When the lever is forced to rotate the latching member, the latching member is apart from the stopper to eject the tray, and then the first protrusive portion of the latching member is pressed by the second protrusive portion of the rail so as to rotate the latching member and move the latching member and the lever back.

  • Patent number: 6578246
Abstract: A disassembling device for disassembling a housing composed of a first member and a second member. The first member is attached to the second member by engaging a first engaging portion with a second engaging portion. The disassembling device comprises at least one first shifting mechanism and at least one second shifting mechanism. The first shifting mechanism is used to detach the second member from the first member. The first shifting mechanism comprises at least one first compressing portion while the second shifting mechanism comprises at least one second compressing portion. When the housing is to be disassembled, the second compressing portion detaches the first engaging portion from the second engaging portion partially. Then, the first compressing portion is moved to detach the second member from the first member completely.
