Abstract: A method of performing buffer status reporting for a mobile device capable of UL MIMO and/or capable of receiving and transmitting on a plurality of component carriers in a wireless communication system is disclosed. The method comprises generating at least a MAC subheader, generating at least two MAC control elements for jointly indicating buffer status of at least a logical channel group in the mobile device, and generating a MAC PDU including the at least a MAC subheader and the at least two MAC control elements for the buffer status reporting.

Abstract: A method of handling buffer status report for a mobile device capable of UL MIMO and/or capable of receiving and/or transmitting on a plurality of component carriers in a wireless communication system is disclosed. The method comprises generating at least a buffer size table each including a plurality of indexes according to the maximum uplink data transmission rate, wherein some of the plurality of indexes each is used for indicating a data amount in an uplink buffer of the mobile device for the buffer status report.

Abstract: A wireless communications device with a wireless module and a controller module is provided. The wireless module performs wireless transceiving to and from a radio access network. The controller module receives a preamble assignment message comprising a component carrier indicator from the radio access network via the wireless module, and transmits, on a component carrier corresponding to the component carrier indicator, a Random Access Preamble (RAP) message to the radio access network via the wireless module. Also, the controller module receives a Random Access Response (RAR) message corresponding to the RAP message from the radio access network via the wireless module, and determines whether to activate the component carrier in response to one of the preamble assignment message, the RAP message, and the RAR message.

Abstract: A method of handling component carrier activation and deactivation for a mobile device capable of receiving and transmitting on a plurality of component carriers in a wireless communication system is disclosed. The method includes starting a deactivation timer for a component carrier of the plurality of component carriers when the component carrier is activated, wherein the deactivation timer provides a period of time for component carrier activation, performing a Hybrid Automatic Repeat Request (HARQ) process on the component carrier, and extending activation time of the component carrier when a retransmission of the HARQ process is not finished before deactivation of the component carrier.

Abstract: A method of handling uplink synchronization for a mobile device capable of receiving and transmitting on a plurality of component carriers in a wireless communication system is disclosed. The method comprises performing a first random access procedure on a first component carrier of the plurality of component carriers to establish uplink synchronization on the first component carrier, and performing a second random access procedure on at least a component carrier of the plurality of component carriers to establish uplink synchronization on the at least a component carrier.

Abstract: Embodiments of method and apparatus for reception of multicast and broadcast (MBS) transmissions in a wireless communication system including a set of receiving devices is disclosed. A method embodiment includes encoding, by a transmission device, a plurality of MBS data bits to generate a plurality of MBS data versions, and transmitting, to the set of receiving devices, the plurality of MBS data versions, wherein the plurality of MBS data versions are transmitted in a predefined transmission pattern. The method also includes transmitting, to the set of receiving devices, identification and decoding information associated with each of the plurality of MBS data versions.

Abstract: A method of providing a paging process for Multicarrier may include providing, from a communication node, multiple carriers over which a paging notification may be transmitted. The method may further include configuring the multiple carriers to provide support for paging of mobile devices based on a set of paging groups with which the communication node is associated. The configuring may include configuration of at least one carrier to provide support for less than all of the set of paging groups.
