Abstract: Consistent with the disclosed embodiments, a method for content synchronization in a wireless network is provided. A first data packet communicated in a multicast or broadcast service may be received over a first communication channel. A primary counter value may be added to the first data packet. The primary counter value may be indicative of a total size of data packets sent over a second communication channel to a base station within a period of time. A secondary counter value may be added to the first data packet if the first data packet has a timestamp later than a scheduling time. The scheduling time may be associated with a scheduling interval for transmitting data packets. An updated first data packet may be sent over the second communication channel to the base station. The updated first data packet may include the first data packet received including the primary counter and the secondary counter.

Abstract: Consistent with the disclosed embodiments, a method for evaluating the number of mobile stations in a target group uses a processor to execute instructions to perform the method. The method may initiate a counting event using the processor. In response to the counting event, a counting request message may be transmitted over a first communication channel. The counting request message may comprise a code set. The code set may comprise a plurality of orthogonal codes. In response to the counting request message transmitted, receipt of a first counting response message over a second communication channel may be confirmed. The counting response message may comprise a first code. The first code, consistent with some embodiments, may comprise content corresponding to a portion of the code set. Based in part on confirmation of receipt of the counting response message, the number of mobile stations in the target group may be determined independent of a connection status of each mobile station.

Abstract: A communication network includes a plurality of network interface devices each covering a respective one of a plurality of cells. Each of the plurality of network interface devices communicates with communication entities in the respective cell using radio frames of the respective cell. The radio frames of a first one of the plurality of cells are shifted in time with respect to the radio frames of a second one of the plurality of cells.

Abstract: A method for a base station to provide a multicast and/or broadcast service (MBS) in a communication system. The method includes: transmitting system information on a system control information block (SCIB); transmitting MBS control information that is changed with relatively high frequency on a secondary multicast/broadcast control information block (S-MCIB); and transmitting MBS content data based on the MBS control information.

The method includes receiving location information respectively associated with each of a plurality of PTM data versions, and retrieving the plurality of PTM data versions using the location information. The method also includes combining the retrieved plurality of PTM data versions to generate a combined PTM data version, and decoding the combined PTM data version.

Abstract: A liquid dispensing apparatus and method for using same, including a dispenser for dispensing liquid such as water to a user. A liquid container is located below the dispenser and removably attachable to a pivoting cradle engaging the liquid container. The cradle may be pivoted about an axis located adjacent an exit location for liquid within the liquid container. A filling device may be located below the liquid container for removably engaging the liquid container in fluid communication.

Abstract: A method for performing a handover process in a wireless communication system, the method comprising allocating a communication channel to a first infrastructure station in the wireless communication system, reserving a signature corresponding to the communication channel for the first infrastructure station, the signature enabling a user equipment attached to the first infrastructure station to communicate with a second infrastructure station in the wireless communication system over the communication channel, receiving from the user equipment a message including the signature over the communication channel, determining a timing advance as an offset to a delay of the message, and sending the timing advance to the user equipment through the first infrastructure station.

Abstract: A liquid dispensing system including a renewable source of the liquid, such as a water bottle, in fluid communication with a reservoir contained by a dispensing apparatus such as a water cooler, from which the liquid may be dispensed. A device providing a flow path between the renewable source of the liquid and the reservoir has liquid and air flow paths which are different. Various flow path configurations, using cold and hot water tanks and various sensing devices, may be employed.

Abstract: A cap is provided for sealing a liquid container such as a water bottle. The cap may include a cap body with an outer annular wall engaging the bottle neck, and an inner annular wall with a plug gripping formation engaging a cap gripping formation on a cap plug. The cap body and the cap plug may be attached by a tether to ensure that the cap plug does not completely disassociate from the cap during liquid container removal and replacement. A method for using such a cap, including various embodiments of the cap body and cap plug, is also disclosed and claimed.

The shutoff device is in removable engagement and fluid communication with a water container such as a water bottle, and is adapted to disable dispensing after a predetermined amount of dispensing has occurred, which may but need not substantially correspond to the filtration capacity of the filter. In a preferred embodiment, the shutoff device includes a monitoring and disabling with plunger components moveable between dispensing and disabling locations, and a rotating indexing mechanism. At the disabling location, a plunger component is placed in an interfering position with the engagement between the shutoff device and the water container. The shutoff device can distinguish between water bottles having different volumetric capacities, and terminate dispensing accordingly. Preferable, a replaceable filter cartridge is provided which, when removed, causes the indexing mechanism to be reset.

Abstract: A compact, countertop water dispenser preferably dispensing ambient, chilled or hot water, and preferably allowing single-hand dispensing of ambient and child water, as well as child-resistant hot water dispensing. In one embodiment, powered by thermoelectrics, a side-mounted water container feeds a first reservoir, which feeds a second reservoir in liquid communication with hot and cold tanks. Predetermined reservoir water levels may be maintained by float switches and solenoid valves may be used to enable/disable water flow from the tanks and dispensing. Many other features are provided as described below.
