  • Publication number: 20200273142
Abstract: The described techniques provide for bin-based rendering where the scene geometry in a frame is subdivided into bins or tiles, and bins are resolved concurrently with the rendering of a next bin. For example, a graphics processing unit (GPU) may process an entire image and sort transactions (e.g., rasterized primitives, such as triangles) into bins. For the rendering of each transaction, a device may identify a memory address of a memory block (e.g., a unit or portion of internal GPU memory (GMEM)) the transaction will be written (i.e., rendered) to. The device may thus prepare the memory block for rendering (e.g., by performing a resolve operation, a clear operation, or an unresolve operation on the memory block), such that the memory block is prepared prior to rendering of the particular transaction. As such, transactions of a bin may be resolved concurrently with rendering of transactions of a next bin.

  • Publication number: 20200252749
Abstract: An in-car phone localization scheme is proposed to determine, in real time, the locations of smartphones inside a moving car, with the goal of preventing smartphone-distracted driving. The localization system operates on commodity smartphones, and does not require any additional special/customized sensors or devices to be installed inside the car, making its deployment easy and attractive to users and carmakers. Even when a phone is moved from one location to another inside a moving car, the system will detect this movement, record the sensor data, and estimate the phone's destination location. The system captures the trajectory of each phone movement, the change of magnetic field, and the RSSI readings from the car Bluetooth transceiver, and then estimates the phone's destination location by matching the trajectory with the variation of magnetic field and the Bluetooth RSSI readings.

  • Publication number: 20200226966
Abstract: People use their mobile devices anywhere and anytime to run various apps, and the information shown on their device screens can be seen by nearby unauthorized parties, referred to as shoulder surfers. To mitigate this privacy threat, techniques have been developed utilizing human vision and optical system properties to hide the users' on-screen information from the shoulder surfers. Specifically, the proposed techniques discretize the device screen into grid patterns to neutralize the low-frequency components so that the on-screen information will “blend into” the background when viewed from the outside of the designed visible range.

  • Patent number: 10707706
Abstract: The present invention discloses a magnetic rotary disc, which mainly comprises a metal rotary body and a plurality of magnetic elements. The metal rotary body is formed of metal iron, the magnetic elements are arranged on peripheral edge of the metal rotary body in a uniform distribution. Each magnetic element comprises a first magnetic pole portion and a second magnetic pole portion. All of the first magnetic pole portions and the second magnetic pole portions respectively belong to upper portion and lower portion of the magnetic elements. Most particularly, in all magnetic elements, the lower side of the second magnetic pole portion of any magnetic elements and the upper side of the first magnetic pole portion of the other magnetic elements partially attract each other, so that only the magnetic force lines of the first magnetic pole portions are retained outside the peripheral edge of the metal rotary body.

  • Patent number: 10708988
Abstract: A modular heating system includes many composite heating modules, each with a microwave resonant cavity for accommodating an object. Each is separable into two parts. One part is a microwave heating semi-cavity which includes a microwave guiding device fixed on the machine frame, and the other part is a conductive heating semi-cavity which is transferrable as a carrier of heating object. The heat-receiving object is placed into a sealed container and positioned in the microwave resonant cavity. The microwaves propagated by the microwave guiding device can heat up the object. The sealed container is configured to sustain the outward expansion pressure due to the temperature rise in the object. The microwave resonant cavities act individually and do not affect each other. They are modular so as to provide the modular heating system with the flexibility to increase or decrease the module numbers for each production line.

  • Patent number: 10699960
Abstract: Methods for improving interlayer dielectric (ILD) layer topography and resulting integrated circuit devices are disclosed herein. An exemplary method includes forming a first contact etch stop layer having a first thickness over a first region of a wafer, forming a second contact etch stop layer having a second thickness over a second region of the wafer, and forming an ILD layer over the first contact etch stop layer and the second contact etch stop layer. A first topography variation exists between the first region and the second region. The second thickness is different than the first thickness to achieve a second topography variation that is less than the first topography variation. The first topography variation can be caused by a height difference between a first gate structure disposed over the wafer in the first region and a second gate structure disposed over the wafer in the second region.
