  • Patent number: 6663214
Abstract: A micro liquid dispenser that incorporates a liquid pillar injector and a method for depositing liquid on a substrate by the micro liquid dispenser are disclosed. The micro liquid dispenser is constructed by a liquid storage chamber, a micro-actuator and an aperture formed in a semiconductor substrate, such as a silicon substrate. The method for depositing liquid on the substrate can be carried out by positioning a substrate juxtaposed to the aperture of the micro liquid dispenser and then actuating the actuator of the dispenser to inject a liquid pillar from the aperture toward the substrate. Only a tip portion of liquid pillar contacts and thereby attaches to the surface of the substrate while the remaining portion of the liquid pillar breaks off and retracted into the aperture or the liquid storage chamber of the dispenser.

  • Publication number: 20030184445
Abstract: A strong shaking judgment method and device can use earthquake data recorded at all places in the world to process strong shaking waveform analysis in order to attain strong shaking characteristic parameters. These parameters are used as judgment standards of a strong shaking. A strong shaking judgment method according to the invention is described as follows: first, calculate and analyze every kind of earthquake characteristic parameter, such as a maximum acceleration value, number of times for passing over acceleration threshold, maximum velocity, maximum displacement, shaking energy index and shaking frequency, from acceleration change in a certain preset time frame. Next, use these six parameters to process a strong shaking judgment. A strong shaking judgment device can use a battery module, acceleration sensor module, micro controller module, alarm output module and state display module. The device in coordination with the method mentioned above can process a strong shaking judgment.

  • Publication number: 20030137558
Abstract: A method for fabricating a thermal inkjet head equipped with a symmetrical heater and the head fabricated by the method are provided. The method incorporates two thick photoresist deposition processes and a nickel electroplating process. The first thick photoresist deposition process is carried out to form an ink chamber in fluid communication with a funnel-shaped manifold and an injector orifice. The second thick photoresist deposition process forms a mold for forming an injector passageway that leads to the injector orifice. The nickel electroplating process provides an orifice plate on top of the inkjet head through which an injector passageway that leads to the injector orifice is provided for injecting ink droplets.

  • Publication number: 20030137559
Abstract: A method for fabricating a thermal inkjet head equipped with symmetrical heaters and a rapid ink refill mechanism and the head fabricated by the method are provided. The method incorporates two thick photoresist deposition processes and a nickel electroplating process. The first thick photoresist deposition process is carried out to form a primary ink chamber and an auxiliary ink chamber in fluid communication with a funnel-shaped manifold and an injector orifice. The second thick photoresist deposition process forms a mold for forming an injector passageway that leads to the injector orifice. The nickel electroplating process provides an orifice plate on top of the inkjet head through which an injector passageway that leads to the injector orifice is provided for injecting ink droplets.
