    Abstract: A sound reduction system for reducing noise from a high power combustion engine is supplied by means of a method. The sound reduction system comprises a plurality of elements and attenuating devices placed in an elongated channel. During design of the sound reduction system one makes use of a particular suitable attenuating element with a first reactive part, a second reactive part and a third reactive part. Such a module, which is less sensitive to position in the channel, cost effective to manufacture and cost effective to model, is combined with single attenuating devices. The method enables a user to meet the requirements on sound reduction and keeping construction costs down, by using an iterative step-by-step approach. Such an approach is unknown according to traditional methods. An advantage of the method is that it enables an accurate acoustic model of the complete exhaust system, not only in the low frequency area and in the upper frequency area, but also in the intermediate frequency area.

    Abstract: The invention relates to an arrangement in a pump block. The pump block includes a plurality of pump valves each connected to a piston in a piston pump. The pump block also includes an inlet pipe which is common to all of the pump valves. The inlet pipe has a connection to each pump valve. One connection between the inlet pipe and the pump block is fixed and includes a flange fixedly screwed in the pump block, the remaining connections are movable in the longitudinal direction of the inlet pipe. The movable connections each include a flange with over-dimensioned boltholes in which a spacer is placed.

    Abstract: An apparatus for high pressure pumping or homogenizing of liquids has a drive motor with a transmission mechanism and a pump section. The transmission mechanism includes a belt train, a gearbox and a crank mechanism which is housed in a crankcase. The pump section includes a pump block, valves, and pistons which are connected to the crank mechanism. The transmission mechanism converts the rotary movement of the drive motor into the reciprocating movement of the pump pistons. The drive motor is placed directly above the crankcase and is surrounded on two sides by partitions which are interconnected by a roof. The partitions form, together with the roof, an air channel such that the driving parts of the apparatus may be cooled in a simple and efficient manner. By use of various arrangements peripheral to the apparatus, the air may be led off or recycled after cooling and recovery of the heat.

    Abstract: A capacitor for temporary storage of electrical energy comprising at least two capacitor elements (2) composed of electrodes (5) which are separated by one or more dielectrics (6), and especially a power capacitor for high voltage. When the capacitor is being loaded, electrostatic forces give rise to mechanical forces between the electrodes in the capacitor. The forces give rise to vibrations which radiate as sound from the surface of the capacitor. Between, or adjacent to, packages (10) of compressed capacitor elements (2), there are placed one or more active or passive spring elements (11), which are adapted to change the natural frequencies of the capacitor. In this way, the oscillation resistance of the capacitor may be changed at the frequency ranges where the force is acting. The vibrations in the surface layer of the capacitor decrease, resulting in reduced sound radiation from the capacitor.
