  • Patent number: 8365602
Abstract: A weld seam tracking device for tracking weld seams on pipes or the like uses NDT/NDI sensor(s) in conjunction with an NDT/NDI operation, such as an ultrasonic phased array (PA) inspection. Processing of the weld seam tracking data is integrated or combined with the existing data processing element of the existing NDT/NDI inspection devices. Wide scanning areas of phased array probes allow weld seam tracking and inspection to be performed using a single set of probe and data processing elements to achieve both fault scanning and seam tracking with a single run of the PA scan.

  • Publication number: 20040186440
Abstract: A lockable safety shield assembly for a prefillable syringe is provided. The design of the lockable safety shield assembly enhances pharmaceutical manufacturers' ease of assembling the various components as part of its filling or processing of the prefillable syringes in normal practice, while at the same time minimizes difficulties in mating parts made from different materials. A tube is placed around the outside surface of the syringe barrel and affixed thereto. A collar is provided on the tube adjacent the distal end of the syringe barrel. A safety shield is axially slidable over the tube between a retracted position, wherein the distal end of the piercing element associated with the prefillable syringe is exposed, and an extended position, wherein the safety shield is locked to the collar to protectively cover the distal end of the piercing element. The safety shield includes locking structure configured so that the shield can be easily fitted over the tube.

  • Patent number: 6793392
Abstract: A bag comprising an envelope closed at one end by an end wall and delimiting a mouth at the other end, containing a charge capable of passing, for example under gravity, through said mouth, when said bag is in the inverted position, said envelope being shaped on itself at said mouth in order to close said bag. At the opposite end to the end wall, the envelope is shaped on itself, in particular folded, to determine, without discontinuity: an outer sleeve which is above the mouth when the bag is in the inverted position; at least one inner closure fold; a neck inside which the inner closure fold is located; and at least one outer closure fold closing said neck.

  • Patent number: 6571540
Abstract: Device (10) for achieving communication, via a coupling means, between a first chamber (1) and a second chamber (2). The coupling means comprises, on the same side as the first chamber (1), a first shut-off member (41), and, on the same side as the second chamber (2), a second shut-off member (4) comprising a second flange (52) forming a seat for a second removable shutter element (72). The coupling means further comprises means of sealed connection between two flanges (51) and (52). The second chamber (2) being defined by the inside of a flexible and sealed bag (15), the border of the mouth of which is connected in a sealed way to the second flange (52). When the coupling, means is in an uncoupled position, the flexible bag (15) comprises a band (15d) extending the bag (15) continuously beyond the second flange (52), defining a closed (15f) and sealed, but openable envelope (12) for protecting the second shut-off member (42).

  • Patent number: 5951526
Abstract: An assembly for administering preset doses of medication is provided. The assembly includes a syringe holder and a pre-filled syringe which is mounted to the holder. The syringe includes a barrel for containing medication, a movable plunger including a piston within the barrel, and a blunt end having an opening through which the medication within the barrel can be expelled. The syringe holder includes a body portion and a movable stop which is engageable with the plunger of the syringe. The stop engages the plunger once it has been moved sufficiently to deliver a desired amount of medication from the barrel for example. The user then disengages the stop from the plunger, allowing the remaining medication to be administered. One application is to a nasal syringe, where approximately equal doses of medication are desired to be administered to each nostril of the patient.
