  • Publication number: 20040249372
Abstract: A method is disclosed for treating an aneurysm by cooling a target tissue region of the aneurysm to a temperature below body temperature for a preselected time period. The method entails thickening, strengthening, or increasing the density of a blood vessel wall by cooling the blood vessel wall with a cryogenically cooled device. The method also includes irradiating the inner wall of a blood vessel around an aneurysm with various forms of energy to delay or halt aneurysm formation. An energy-emitting element is disposed on the distal end portion of a catheter device to be disposed proximate the aneurysm. Various forms of energy, including visible light energy, laser light energy, ultrasound, microwave and radiofrequency sources may be used to irradiate and treat the aneurysm.

  • Publication number: 20040249897
Abstract: A new method, system and apparatus of rejecting junk mail by using an access code that the sender inserts anywhere in the “SUBJECT” or “MESSAGE” sections of the e-mail message, and only those e-mail messages containing a valid access code previously defined by the owner of the destination e-mail are delivered. Successful senders are then added in a list of approved senders, so they do not need to add the access code in future messages. The messages without a valid access code are deleted and returned to the sender with instructions to include the access code in the SUBJECT or MESSAGE sections of the e-mail. If the access code is not known, the instructions ask the sender to access an Internet page to respond to personal questions about the e-mail owner. Only those senders that can answer to at least one of these questions correctly obtain the access code.

Abstract: An apparatus for ink-jet printing including an ink-jet print head to jet ink, a coating solid, and a coating holder to support the coating solid, wherein the coating holder transfers a portion of the coating solid onto a medium to form a coating solid layer. The coating holder and coating solid may be combined in a removable cartridge. In addition, the medium may be an intermediate transfer medium, a media support medium, a transfer medium, or media, such as paper. A method for inkjet printing also includes applying a coating solid to a medium to form a layer of the coating solid, in a solid form, having predetermined thickness, and applying ink to the medium. • Publication number: 20040238078
Abstract: A method for heat treatment of a cold rolled strip with a surface coating of Ni and/or Co and incorporated non-metallic elements C and/or S, if need be with the addition of Fe, In, Pd, Au and/or Bi, whereby the cold rolled strip has a low carbon content. Since the compounds of C, S, N and P deposited on the grain boundaries bring about the most micro-cracks with the surface coating metal if no recrystallization takes place, the temperature of the heat treatment should be selected lower than the recrystallization temperature and higher than the precipitation temperature. With a recrystallization, the grain sizes would easily attain the thickness of the coating so that the embrittled compounds would migrate with the grain boundaries out of the coating. Due to the choice of temperature of the heat treatment of the surface coating of the invention, in contrast, an optimal embrittlement of the grain boundaries is guaranteed, which is especially advantageous in the manufacture of battery cans.

  • Publication number: 20040229438
Abstract: A process is disclosed for forming, on a common semiconductor substrate, CMOS transistors and vertical or lateral MOS transistors on at least first and second portions, respectively, of the substrate. A first dielectric layer is formed on the substrate. A first semiconductor material layer is then formed on the first dielectric layer, in the first portion. A stack structure comprising a second dielectric layer, second semiconductor layer, and low-resistance layer is then formed over the substrate. First ports are defined in the second semiconductor layer and the low-resistance layer to provide gate regions of the vertical or lateral MOS transistors. The second semiconductor layer and the low-resistance layer are then removed from the first portion of the substrate by using the second dielectric layer as a screen. Second ports in the second dielectric layer and the second semiconductor layer are then defined to provide gate regions for the CMOS transistors.
