  • Patent number: 11091171
Abstract: A computer-implemented method, system, and/or computer program product controls a driving mode of a self-driving vehicle (SDV). One or more processors compare a control processor competence level of an on-board SDV control processor in controlling the SDV to a human driver competence level of a human driver in controlling the SDV while the SDV encounters a current roadway condition which is a result of current weather conditions of the roadway on which the SDV is currently traveling. One or more processors then selectively assign control of the SDV to the SDV control processor or to the human driver while the SDV encounters the current roadway condition based on which of the control processor competence level and the human driver competence level is relatively higher to one another.

  • Patent number: 11096050
Abstract: Approaches presented herein enable challenge-response authentication of a user based on information captured by devices associated with the user. Specifically, in one approach, a plurality of devices associated with the user that each dynamically track and store on-device data points over a period of time are identified. A request initiated by a party claiming to be the user is received to authenticate the party as the user. An authentication question is generated in a natural language, the answer to which is a data point selected from data points on at least one device of the plurality, wherein the selected data point is discoverable by viewing data points on the at least one device. The requesting party is prompted to find the data point by presenting the authentication question to the requesting party. In the case that the requesting party returns the answer, the requesting party is authenticated as the user.

  • Patent number: 11076758
Abstract: Embodiments of the invention control a device based on physiological measurements associated with a user. A determination is made that a user has manually adjusted a controlled device. A context associated with the user is identified in response to determining that the user has manually adjusted the controlled device. A change is detected in at least one physiological measurement associated with the user in response to the controlled device being manually adjusted. A target physiological measurement associated with at least one physiological measurement is modified based on the change that has been detected. The context that has been identified is associated with the target physiological measurement that has been modified.

  • Patent number: 11067985
Abstract: Method, system, and computer product for operating a self-driving vehicle (SDV). The SDV receives information from a calendar entry of a passenger's schedule about an event at a destination location to which the SDV is to drive the passenger to. The SDV sensors detect one or more behaviors or cognitive states of the passenger while in the vehicle. The SDV determines an optimal arrival time at the destination location based on the user's schedule information and the user's behavior or cognitive state; and further alters the driving speed or route taken by the SDV based on the determined optimal arrival time and an estimated travel time. The reshaping of the SDV driving characteristics is based on calendar information received including: an event meeting time, event topic, attendees, event importance. A detected passenger behavior can include talking on a phone, reading, or being in a tired, sleeping, agitated or nervous state.

  • Patent number: 11048735
Abstract: A processor-implemented method, system, and/or computer program product improves operation of a computer. One or more processors receive a question from a user of a computer, which requests a solution to improve operations of the computer. Based on an interpretation derived from the context of the request, the processor(s) retrieve multiple child solution instances to the question, where the multiple child solution instances are derived from a parent solution instance. The processor(s) direct the computer to simultaneously display the multiple child solution instances on the computer, and then receive a selected child solution instance from the user. In response to receiving the selected child solution instance, the processor(s): discard other solution instances from the multiple child solution instances; designate the selected child solution instance as a primary solution instance; and store the primary solution instance. The processor(s) then direct execution of the primary solution instance.
