Abstract: A lancing device includes a main body having a drive spring, hammer, trigger mechanism and a lancet holder 22. A lancet 34 may be pushed to engage in snap fit with forwardly extending arms 28 of the lancet holder. Whilst free to move axially, the lancet 36 is held against rotation and, following use, is released from the lancet holder by rotating the lancet holder to disengage the lancet from the forwardly extending arms 28 thus freeing the lancet.

Abstract: A lancing device includes a main barrel portion 10 to the front end of which is hinged a forward portion for movement between the open position shown in FIG. 1 and a closed position. The main barrel portion 10 contains a drive mechanism, cocking slider and trigger, whilst the forward portion contains a lancet holder into which a lancet may be loaded front end first. Also disclosed is a lancing device having a main housing having a forward nose portion to the rear of which is a flip up lancet hatch into which a lancet may be loaded front end first.

Abstract: A lancet device includes a main body in which is located a lancet drive shaft 20 having a lancet holder 22 at its front end. A front housing flap 12 is hinged to the front of the main body portion and opens to allow insertion/withdrawal of a lancet. A multi-function cocking/ejection element 16 is operable both to cock the drive shaft prior to firing and to eject a lancet from the lancet holder after firing. The cock/eject element also unlatches the front flap 12.

Abstract: A substance delivery device (autoinjector) for use with a container (such as a syringe) containing the substance includes: a body arranged to house or hold the container; a plunger which is movable with respect to at least a portion of the body, the plunger being arranged to act upon the container so as to move the container with respect to the portion of the body; wherein the plunger is also arranged to expel at least a portion of the substance from the container; and wherein the device includes elements for adjusting the amount of substance to be expelled from the container. Abstract: A skin pricking device includes first (12) and second (14) housing parts telescopically coupled together. A lancet (26) and a firing mechanism (32,38) are disposed within the first housing part, whilst a membrane (25) is disposed over an open end of the first housing part to seal the first housing part containing the lancet and the firing mechanism. Movement of the second housing part towards the first housing part activates the firing mechanism thereby driving a tip (30) of the lancet through the membrane and through an opening (18) in the second housing part.
