  • Patent number: 10881542
Abstract: A stent delivery device for deploying a low column strength stent may include an inner member having a distal region and a stent receiving area disposed therein. A low column strength stent convertible between a compressed configuration and an expanded configuration may be disposed on the stent receiving area. The stent receiving area may include a soft durometer polymer configured to permit the low column strength stent to sink into the soft durometer polymer when the low column strength stent is in the compressed configuration. An outer member may be moveable between an extended position in which the outer member extends over the stent and a retracted position in which the outer member is proximal of the stent.

  • Publication number: 20200397229
Abstract: A medical valve may comprise a valve stem and an operation portion. The operation portion may include a stationary portion, a movable portion which is movable relative to the stationary portion and fixed relative to the valve stem, a seal disposed between the stationary portion and the movable portion, and a biasing member. Movement of the movable portion in a first direction may cause deformation of the biasing member, such that a restorative force of the biasing member urges movement of the movable portion in a second direction opposite the first direction. A frictional force between the seal and one of the stationary portion and the movable portion resists the movement of the movable portion in the second direction.

  • Publication number: 20200386330
Abstract: A valve may have a fluid inlet and a fluid outlet. The valve may include a valve stem having a lumen extending from a first opening at a proximal portion of the valve stem to a second opening at a distal end of the valve stem. A plurality of seals may be positioned relative to the valve stem. The valve stem and seals may be configured so that a fluid entering the inlet is prevented from flowing to the outlet in a first position of the valve stem and relative to the inlet and the outlet. The valve stem and the seals may be configured so that a fluid entering the inlet flows to the outlet in a second position of the valve stem relative to the inlet and the outlet, the second position being more distal than the first position relative to the inlet and the outlet.

  • Publication number: 20200352415
Abstract: A medical cleaning valve (or cleaning valve) may be configured to provide cleaning functionality to air and water channels of an endoscope. One or more embodiments described herein may include cleaning valves with features and/or components that facilitate differentiating them from procedural valves. In some embodiments, valves may be made from a limited number of parts and materials, to limit their cost. For example, multiple seals may be formed as a single component, such as via overmolding. In another example, wiper seals may be used to accommodate greater manufacturing tolerances. In yet another example, the valve may have a single elastomeric component, or spring cap, which may combine the functionality of a number of components (e.g., a boot, spring, spring housing, and stem cap).

  • Publication number: 20200355281
Abstract: A medical cleaning valve (or cleaning valve) may be configured to provide cleaning functionality to fluid (e.g., air and water) channels of an endoscope. Many embodiments described herein may include a cleaning valve (or valve) that is appropriate for single-use and therefore may be disposable. Accordingly, the valve may be made from a limited number of parts and materials, e.g., to limit its cost and/or manufacturing complexity. For example, multiple seals may be integrally formed with a valve stem. In another example, the valve may have an interface member, which may combine and simplify the functionality of a number of components, such as by connecting the valve stem to a valve well, sealing an opening to a lumen in the valve stem, and/or biasing the valve stem into a position relative to the valve well.

  • Publication number: 20200037863
Abstract: A medical device may comprise a handle portion; an insertion portion having a proximal end portion at the handle portion, wherein the insertion portion includes a lumen therein and a distal end having a distal opening in communication with the lumen; and a member disposed within the lumen, the member having a distal end portion with an imaging device. The member may be configured to transition between a first configuration and a second configuration. In the first configuration, the imaging device may face distally, and, in the second configuration, the imaging device may face proximally. Extending the distal end portion of the member distally past the distal opening may cause the member to transition from the first configuration to the second configuration.
