  • Publication number: 20040131474
Abstract: This invention relates to a pumping system. The design of the system is such that bi-directional operation can be achieved using a significantly smaller and hence lighter unit than those currently available. It uses the direction of rotation of the drive shaft to control the opening and closure of the by-pass means for controllably returning the fluid to the first reservoir.

  • Publication number: 20040133354
Abstract: A technique for simulating the activities of a large number of creatures is described. The technique utilises two modes of simulation. The first mode of simulation is arranged to simulate the activities of all of the creatures. The second mode of simulation is arranged to simulate the activities of a few of the creatures, at a more detailed level than the first mode. The second mode is utilised by the first mode to determine new parameters of individual creatures when the creatures undergo a change in environment.

  • Patent number: 6628543
Abstract: A method is provided for electrically coupling a magnetoresistive memory MRAM circuit component to a host component. The method includes keeping the temperature of the MRAM circuit component below about 200° C. while aligning at least one interface feature of the MRAM circuit component with at least one interface feature of the host component and electrically coupling the interface features using a z-axis conductive material. In certain exemplary implementations, the temperature of the magnetoresistive memory circuit component is keep below about 180° C. It has been found that lower temperatures such as these eliminate the need to conduct additional MRAM annealing processes to re-set/re-pin a selected magnetic direction in certain materials within the MRAM.

  • Publication number: 20030152973
Abstract: The present invention provides a full length cDNA sequence that codes for a G-protein coupled receptor, as well as the complete gene and the encoded protein. The present invention provides a recombinant cell line expressing these receptors at appropriate levels such that novel compounds active at these receptors may be identified for therapeutic use. The receptor sequence described in this invention is a member of a novel GPCR receptor sub-family which has no known endogenous ligand. This cDNA can be used to identify novel compounds active at the receptor for therapeutic intervention especially in the field of CNS disorders, more in particular for the treatment of bipolar affective disorder (BPAD). The nucleotide sequence of this gene could he used for diagnostic purposes in psychiatric patients and susceptible populations.

  • Publication number: 20030094063
Abstract: A clamping mechanism for an adjustable steering column for a vehicle includes an actuating lever for actuating a clamping device which is coupled to an operating lever to which is mounted an operating handle. The two levers are interconnected intermediate their ends such that one lever can pivot and slide in a slot relatively to the other and the lever having a moveable fulcrum to allow for adjustment of the steering column. The fulcrum of the lever is fixed and the geometry is such that the clamping device always returns to the same, fully locked position, regardless of the rake and/or reach adjustment position of the steering column.
