  • Patent number: 10480688
Abstract: A cable tie includes a flexible elongate strap and a head attached to a first end of the strap. The head has a front wall, side walls and a rear wall defining an aperture. The front wall has at least one fixed tooth formed thereon and the rear wall has a flexural element formed thereon opposite the at least one fixed tooth, wherein the at least one fixed tooth and the flexural element are configured to permit a second end of the strap opposite the head to be inserted through the head aperture in a first direction and being further configured to prevent movement of the second end of the strap from the head aperture in a second direction opposite the first direction.

  • Patent number: 10476322
Abstract: An electrical machine has a nonmetallic housing having a stator band and an endplate, wherein the laminated stator core is in self-locked engagement with the housing. Another electrical machine has a unitary nonmetallic housing with an integral stator band and an integral endplate, wherein the laminated stator core is over-molded with the housing. Yet another electrical machine has a unitary nonmetallic housing with an integral stator band and an integral endplate, wherein the laminated stator core is in engagement with the stator band with an interference fit.

  • Publication number: 20190238034
Abstract: An electrical machine includes a stator and a rotor in magnetic communication with the stator. The rotor has a cage construction, the rotor having a plurality of passages extending therethrough from a first end of the rotor to a second end of the rotor. A rotor cage has two end rings, one of the end rings disposed at each of the first end and the second end of the rotor, and having a plurality of conductor bars extending through the rotor from the first end to the second end and coupled with the end rings. The conductor bars each include a transition region adjacent to each end ring, and a central region disposed between the two transition regions. Each transition region includes at least one conductor bar dimension that increases proximate the end rings.

  • Publication number: 20190190358
Abstract: A method of balancing a rotor and/or fixing rotor components includes arranging a plurality of generally like laminations side by side in a stack to form at least a part of a rotor. The rotor has a rotational center axis and each of the laminations having a plurality of apertures that cooperate to form passages that extend axially along a length of the stack. In accordance with an aspect of the method, a polymer based fixation material is filled in the passages in a manner to fix the laminations together in the stack. With the fixation material, a sprue is formed, projecting from an axial face of the stack. In accordance with another aspect of the method, a weight of the sprue is adjusted to rotationally balance the rotor about the rotor center axis.

  • Publication number: 20190013119
Abstract: A surge arrester system includes a surge arrester, and an active cooling system having a cooling interface in contact with the surge arrester and operative to transfer heat from the surge arrester. The active cooling system includes a forced convection apparatus operative to provide forced convection cooling. A circuit breaker system includes a power semiconductor switch and an active cooling system constructed to cool the power semiconductor switch. The active cooling system includes a forced convection apparatus configured to provide forced convection cooling. The power semiconductor switch is in contact with the active cooling system. A surge arrester is disposed adjacent to and in contact with the active cooling system. The active cooling system includes a cooling interface constructed for contact with the surge arrester and operative to provide cooling to the surge arrester. The power semiconductor switch and the surge arrester dissipate power alternatively.
