  • Patent number: 11013179
Abstract: The subject disclosure includes structure for easily and reliably connecting and disconnecting first and second ends of an agricultural harvester draper belt. A unitary hairpin connecting bar enables connection of adjacent flanges of the first and second ends of the draper belt. A plurality of connecting bar pairs provide connection of adjacent flanges of the first and second ends of the draper belt when the flanges are arranged in an angled, stepped or staggered pattern. A flexible connecting bar pair provides connection to flanges at the first and second ends of the draper belt that extend at a non-perpendicular angle relative to the leading edge of the draper belt.

  • Publication number: 20210120742
Abstract: A system for sensing harvested crop levels within a crop tank of an agricultural harvester includes a tank cover section movable between an open position and a covered position relative to an opening of the crop tank. The system includes a sensor array including crop level sensors configured to capture data indicative of a crop level of harvested crop. The sensor array is supported, at least in part, relative to the crop tank such that the sensor array is configured to have a first orientation when the tank cover section is in the covered position and a second orientation when the tank cover section is in the open position. The sensor array defines a first vertical dimension when the sensor array is disposed in the first orientation that is less than a second vertical dimension defined by the sensor array when the sensor array is disposed in the second orientation.

  • Publication number: 20210120743
Abstract: A system and method for reversing a rotational direction of an auger of a header. The system includes a fluid line for delivering fluid to a motor that drives the auger. A directional flow control valve is connected to the fluid line and is movable between a first state in which the valve is configured to deliver the fluid to the motor in a first fluid direction to cause the motor to move the auger in a first rotational direction, and a second state in which the valve is configured to deliver the fluid to the motor in a second fluid direction that is different from the first fluid direction to cause the motor to move the auger in a second rotational direction that is opposite to the first rotational direction.

  • Publication number: 20210120740
Abstract: An agricultural header having a frame, a first support arm, a second support arm spaced from the first support arm, a reel extending from a first reel end rotatably mounted to the first support arm to a second reel end rotatably mounted to the second support arm, a first actuator operatively connected to the frame and the first support arm and configured to move the first support arm relative to the frame, a second actuator operatively connected to the frame and the second support arm and configured to move the second support arm relative to the frame, and a control system configured to alternately operate the first actuator and the second actuator in repeating alternating incremental steps to thereby move the reel from a first reel position relative to the frame to a second reel position relative to the frame. A combine having such a header is also provided.

  • Publication number: 20210059117
Abstract: Method and apparatus for presenting information associated with a multi-segment header of an agricultural harvester. The operational states of the segments are monitored and used to present information. Examples of presented information include graphics depicting which segments are operational and which segments are non-operational, crop coverage maps, and crop yield maps.

  • Publication number: 20210055158
Abstract: In one aspect, a system for filtering signal interference from sensors signals includes a header comprising a frame and a powered component supported relative to the frame, and a sensor configured to detect electromagnetic waves indicative of a parameter associated with the header. In addition, the system includes an electronic control unit operably connected to the sensor such that the electronic control unit is configured to receive signals from the sensor associated with the detection of the electromagnetic waves. The electronic control unit is further configured to filter interference from the signals deriving from motion of the powered component relative to the sensor.

  • Publication number: 20200390035
Abstract: An agricultural vehicle header system having a center section, an inboard height sensor located on the center section between a lateral centerline and an end of the center section, a wing section movably attached to the end of the center section, a number of outboard height sensors located on the wing section between an inboard end and an outboard end of the wing section, and a header control subsystem. Each of the outboard height sensors is configured to output a respective outboard height sensor signal. The header control subsystem is operatively connected to the outboard height sensors, and configured to receive the respective outboard height sensor signals from each of the outboard height sensors, and generate a single emulated outboard height sensor signal based on the outboard height sensor signals.

  • Patent number: 10834798
Abstract: An illumination system for a harvesting implement including two or more lighting devices, each lighting device coupled to the harvesting implement and configured to illuminate an area of crop engagement, a path of the harvesting implement, or both. The illumination system additionally includes a controller coupled to the harvesting implement and communicatively coupled to the lighting devices. The controller is configured to control an operation of the illumination system to provide a first pre-set illumination pattern based on a first operating state of the harvesting implement. The controller is further configured to receive an input indicative of a change in the operating state of the harvesting implement. Further, the controller is configured to, in response to receipt of the input, control the operation of the illumination array to provide a second pre-set illumination pattern based on the change in the operating state.

  • Publication number: 20200285241
Abstract: In one aspect, a method for distributing crop material for ensilage may include determining, with a computing device, a storage volume for the crop material. The method may also include dividing, with the computing device, the determined storage volume into a plurality of planes. Each plane of the plurality of planes may be spaced apart from each other plane of the plurality of planes along a vertical direction. Furthermore, the method may include controlling, with the computing device, an operation of at least one of a work vehicle or an associated implement in a manner that distributes a portion of the crop material on a given plane of the plurality of planes.
