  • Publication number: 20180374035
Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for advantageously forecasting an inventory of a product having a particular duration (e.g., video content). The technique can include determining the particular configuration (e.g., maximum number of impressions, maximum amount of time permitted) of breaks identified within an impression log. Based on the number of breaks and the configurations of the breaks, the technique can forecast a future inventory of the product. In some implementations, the disclosed technique can identify an amount of a previous break that was not filled with video content. These forecasts can enable product sellers to better communicate with their customers, negotiate supply contracts, price their products, plan for business operations, etc.

  • Publication number: 20180286066
Abstract: The invention provides a method for depth estimation in image or video obtained from a distorting medium. In the method, a pixel blurriness map is calculated. A rough depth map is then determined from the pixel blurriness map while assuming depth in a small local patch is uniform. The rough depth map is then refined. The method can be implemented in imaging systems, such as cameras or imaging processing computers, and the distorting medium can be an underwater medium, haze, fog, low lighting, or a sandstorm, for example. Preferred embodiments determined the blurriness map by calculating a difference between an original image and multi-scale Gaussian-filtered images to estimate the pixel blurriness map.

  • Publication number: 20180215018
Abstract: A fastener-installation system is described that includes a driver to drive a fastener into a structure and a fastener feeder to load the fastener into a loaded position of the driver. The fastener feeder includes a fastener magazine to hold a plurality of fasteners. The fastener-installation system further includes a driver head having a plurality of jaws moveable between a closed position and an expanded position. In the closed position, the plurality of jaws form a piercing tip to pierce material of the structure. Further, the jaws spread apart the material of the structure when the jaws move from the closed position to the expanded position to create a path through the material through which the fastener is driven.
