Abstract: A disposable, single-use, personal care article is disclosed having an active zone, an adjacent non-active zone, and interface therebetween; a benefit agent releasably associated with the active zone; a carrier solvent and optionally a visual indicator associated with the active zone. In one embodiment, the benefit agent, the carrier solvent, and a dye indicator are combined and applied as stripes on the article. The stripes will not substantially bleed into the adjacent non-active zone and will disappear during use of the article indicating that the benefit agent has been transferred to the skin or hair of the user.

Abstract: A disposable substantially damp cleansing article is disclosed having a cleansing composition impregnated onto a flexible substrate such as a non-woven cloth. The impregnated compositions include lathering surfactants and water, and a water-binding agent resulting in a composition having a water activity less than 0.977 but no lower than 0.001. Amounts of water range from greater than 15% to no higher than about 40% by weight of the total article. Speed of lather formation and foam volume increases within the window of the stated water activity and water range.

Abstract: A cosmetic product system is provided which includes a cosmetic composition for combating signs of aging, and a test device packaged with the composition. The device includes a mechanism for evaluating progress of the combat against the signs of aging occurring over a period of time within which the composition is applied to an area of skin being monitored.

The combination of the mild surfactants, moisturizers, and exfoliants provide the user with simultaneous moisturization and exfoliation in a convenient liquid cleansing product.

Abstract: A wiping article is provided which includes an effervescent cleanser composition held within a pouch formed from a first and second substrate sheet. At least one of the substrate sheets must be water permeable. The effervescent composition is an intimate mixture of an acid material such as citric acid and an alkaline material such as sodium bicarbonate. Water contact causes the combination to effervesce. A dry surfactant such as sodium cocoyl isethionate in contact with the water and effervescing carbon dioxide results in a highly pleasant sudsing system. Skin benefit agents may be included within the composition. The effervescent action may improve deposition of the skin benefit agents onto the skin.

Abstract: A test kit and method for visualizing fine lines and wrinkles is provided, the kit including a transparent strip with an adhesive on one surface thereof and an imaging substrate with at least one darkened glossy area for receiving the transparent strip. Written instructions are provided in the kit. These advise a consumer to place the adhesive surface of the strip against a skin area requiring measurement. Thereafter the strip is removed and placed against the darkened area of the substrate. Topographical features of the skin can be viewed through the transparent strip with the transferred skin image onto the blackened background. A cosmetic anti-aging product can be applied to the skin over a period of time. Beneficial changes caused by the product are visualized through the test strip as periodic measurements are taken.

Abstract: A method and kit is provided for removing hair. The method includes applying to an area of skin from which hair is to be removed a skin pretreatment composition that includes a lipophilic material. Thereafter applied onto the pretreated area is a depilatory composition including a keratin degrading agent in an effective amount to chemically react with hair to allow wipe-away removal. A kit is also provided which includes a skin pretreatment product formed with a skin pretreatment composition including a lipophilic material delivered to the skin by a carrier. The kit further includes a depilatory product having a depilatory composition with a keratin degrading agent chemically reactive with hair to weaken the hair for removal, the depilatory composition being delivered from a carrier.

Fragrance is applied topically onto the solid carrier. The compositions are best formed into tablets, pellets, beads or sheet articles. Particularly preferred is where the solid cosmetic composition and carrier are foamed.

The colorant is insoluble in the carrier and the visual color is not imparted to the composition in its substantially dry state. Addition of water to the composition activates a color change which renders the visual color perceivable by a consumer. Color changes can be associated as a signal of performance by a consumer.
