  • Patent number: 7467292
Abstract: A system for migrating information includes a first information handling system (IHS). The first IHS is for, in response to a first boot event, booting from a computer readable medium, bypassing the first IHS user authentication requirement, and establishing a connection between the first IHS and a second IHS. The system for migrating information also includes the second IHS, coupled to the first IHS. The second IHS is for, in response to a second boot event, booting from a storage device of the second IHS, establishing the connection between the first IHS and the second IHS, and migrating information from the first IHS to the second IHS.

  • Patent number: 7466321
Abstract: A user provides a plurality of video frames for processing, and selects a cartoon color palette. The color of all selected pixels within all selected video frames is changed to that of the closest match in color within the cartoon color palette and is stored in a memory. Optionally, the user may create a custom cartoon color palette, and may select less than all of the pixels in any given video frame for processing.

  • Patent number: 7467125
Abstract: Methods that present typically large amounts of entity information with a graphical display that efficiently maps the display of a large number of OLAP objects to related relational database tables thereby retaining contextual information about the data associated with the objects and tables. The efficient mapping is enabled by the use of areas that contain and include objects. The preferred embodiment of the present invention enhances analysis, by OLAP techniques, of the objects and the associated relational database information. An embodiment of the present invention further operates in a recursive manner by enabling the objects to include and contain additional objects.

  • Patent number: 7465537
Abstract: The inventors have discovered that an ATPase-deficient dominant-negative mutant NS3 protein of hepatitis C virus inhibits activity of the wild-type NS3 protein and inhibits replication of hepatitis C virus (HCV). The solved crystal structure of a multi-enzyme NS3 complex on a DNA substrate is also provided. The inventors have tested a peptide matching the sequence of a portion of NS3 that interacts with another NS3 molecule for inhibiting HCV replication. The peptide inhibits HCV replication. Accordingly, the invention provides a method of inhibiting HCV replication in cells infected with HCV involving transforming the cells with a vector expressing a dominant-negative mutant NS3 gene. The invention also provides a method of inhibiting HCV replication in cells infected with HCV involving administering to the cells a dominant-negative mutant NS3 protein. The invention also provides peptides and agents that inhibit HCV replication and methods of identifying agents that inhibit HCV replication.

  • Patent number: 7467196
Abstract: A method for managing network errors communicated in a message transaction with error information using a troubleshooting agent. A network facilitates message transactions between a requester and a responder for facilitating web services. When a non-application specific error occurs in relation to a particular message transaction, such as a network error, a protocol layer assigns an error code and either the requester or responder encodes the error code in the body of an envelope added to the particular message transaction. The message transaction is an XML message with a Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP) envelope encoded with the error code to which the XML message is then attached. The error encoded message transaction is forwarded to a troubleshooting agent. The troubleshooting agent facilitates resolution of the non-application specific error and returns a descriptive message indicating the resolution of the non-application specific error to at least one of the requester and the responder.

  • Publication number: 20080306822
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a business model, methods, and system for generating and distributing telecom and Internet advertising revenue between a voice message broadcast provider and partner social network. The inventive business model provides voice message broadcast services to a social network, self-configured by the administrators and members of that social network via an Internet web-interface. The web-interface, furnished to the social network by the voice message broadcast service provider, converges the interests of the social network's administrators, the social network's members, interested non-members, and 3rd parties that want to telephonically reach call recipients affiliated with the social network.

  • Publication number: 20080305269
Abstract: An absorber layer may be formed on a substrate using atomic layer deposition reactions. An absorber layer containing elements of groups IB, IIIA and VIB may be formed by placing a substrate in a treatment chamber and performing atomic layer deposition of a group IB element and/or one or more group IIIA elements from separate sources onto a substrate to form a film. A group VIA element is then incorporated into the film and annealed to form the absorber layer. The absorber layer may be greater than about 25 nm thick. The substrate may be coiled into one or more coils in such a way that adjacent turns of the coils do not touch one another. The coiled substrate may be placed in a treatment chamber where substantially an entire surface of the one or more coiled substrates may be treated by an atomic layer deposition process.

  • Publication number: 20080306866
Abstract: A method, system, and program for automatically distributing a bid request for a grid job to multiple grid providers and analyzing responses to select a winning grid provider are provided. A user at a grid client enters at least one bid criteria for a particular grid job intended for submission to an external grid environment. The grid client automatically selects at least one grid provider for the external grid environment to query for availability to process the particular grid job to meet the criteria for the particular grid job. Then, the grid client automatically distributes the criteria in a bid request for the particular grid job to the selected grid providers. The grid client stores bid responses received from the grid providers, and responsive to reaching a deadline for return of responses for the bid request, the grid client selects a winning bid response from the particular grid job from among the received responses.

Abstract: An absorber layer of a photovoltaic device may be formed on an aluminum or metallized polymer foil substrate. A nascent absorber layer containing one or more elements of group IB and one or more elements of group IIIA is formed on the substrate. The nascent absorber layer and/or substrate is then rapidly heated from an ambient temperature to an average plateau temperature range of between about 200° C. and about 600° C. and maintained in the average plateau temperature range 1 to 30 minutes after which the temperature is reduced.
