    Abstract: A fastener assembly for securing a heat sink to a printed circuit board, includes a sleeve, a bolt inserted into the sleeve and a resilient component surrounding the bolt. The sleeve comprises a hollow body, a bottom plate at a bottom thereof and an engaging cylinder extending downwardly from the bottom plate. The engaging cylinder has inner thread and a deformable latching protrusion projecting radially outwardly. The bolt includes a shaft, a head and a threaded part for threadedly engaging with a retainer of the printed circuit board. The head is received in the sleeve above the bottom plate. The shaft is received in the through hole of the sleeve whilst the threaded part is held beneath the engaging cylinder of the sleeve. The resilient component is compressed between the head of the bolt and the bottom plate of the sleeve.

The supporting device is inserted between the body and the resilient portion, and abuts against the resilient portion, to thereby reliably keep the resilient portion at its locked position.

The first connecting portions engage with two hooks of the printed circuit board, and the second connecting portions engage with another two hooks of the printed circuit board.

The shaft includes a head at one end thereof, an engaging section at an opposite end thereof, a connecting section between the head and the engaging section, and a tray extending above the engaging section. A spring surrounds the connecting section between the head and the tray of the shaft. A gasket engages with the connecting section of the shaft and is retained between the spring and the tray of the shaft. In this way the shaft, the spring and the gasket are assembled. The gasket extends a downward, annular sidewall for engaging in the heat sink, by which the fastening device can be stably fixed to the heat sink. A back plate extends a nut toward the shaft for engaging with the engaging section of the shaft.
