  • Patent number: 8768134
Abstract: A fiber optic telecommunications frame is provided including panels having front and rear termination locations, the panels positioned on left and right sides of the frame. The frame includes vertical access for the rear cables. The frame further includes left and right vertical cable guides for the front patch cables. The frame further includes cable storage spools for the patch cables. The frame includes a horizontal passage linking the left and right panels and the cable guides. A portion of the frame defines splice tray holders and a central passage from the splice tray holders to the rear sides of the left and right panels. From a front of each panel, access to a rear of the panel is provided by the hinged panels. Alternatively, the panels can form connector modules with front termination locations and rear connection locations for connecting to the rear cables. The modules can house couplers, such as splitters, combiners, and wave division multiplexers.

  • Publication number: 20130254895
Abstract: Non-harmful data mimicking computer network attacks may be inserted in a computer network. Anomalous real network connections may be generated between a plurality of computing systems in the network. Data mimicking an attack may also be generated. The generated data may be transmitted between the plurality of computing systems using the real network connections and measured to determine whether an attack is detected.

  • Publication number: 20130068717
Abstract: The scrunchable plastic disposable carbonated beverage bottle is, as titled, a carbonated beverage bottle that can structurally reduce its volume to preserve carbonation content and freshness of product as product is consumed. The scrunchable bottle also has the ability to self-compact for easier storage and will require less space to dispose of This will ultimately save cubic feet of landfill space that is beyond estimation by preventing air bubbles caused by these bottles.

  • Patent number: 8056576
Abstract: A hydraulic valve has a valve body with a bore into which an inlet port, an outlet port, and a workport all open. A valve spool is slideably received within the bore. The valve spool has a first position that provides a path between the inlet port and the workport, and a second position that provides another path between the outlet port and the workport. Inlet port pressure tends to move the valve spool into the first position and outlet port pressure tends to move the valve spool into the second position. A linear actuator is coupled to the valve spool by a spring, thereby biasing the valve spool toward the first position. Another spring biases the valve spool toward the second position.

  • Patent number: 8036137
Abstract: Embodiments include methods performed in time division duplex (TDD) radio communication systems in which information is communicated between a first node (e.g., a base) and a second node (e.g., user equipment) in a context of a data frame that includes a plurality of slots. The second node applies an adjustment to an alignment between a second node transmit clock and a second node receive clock based on a propagation delay between the first node and the second node. The adjusted alignment ensures that second node receive slots and second node transmit slots are non-overlapping with each other in time, and that the second node will operate in a half-duplex mode of operation. The second node transmits a transmit burst during the second node transmit slots, and receives a first node transmit burst from the first node during the second node receive slots.

  • Patent number: 8036431
Abstract: A portable device for the live scanning of fingerprint, facial and crime scene images and the wireless transmission of said images to a central host system for identity verification. The portable device has the ability to allow the user to operate the device with a single hand. It can scan and record live fingerprint slap or roll images (via optical, solid state, or video sensors). It also includes a baffle that assists with the mechanical alignment of the fingerprints on the fingerprint sensor receiving surface and prevents bright light sources from interfering with fingerprint scans. The portable device also can scan, display, and record latent fingerprint images. It also has other data receiving and transmission functions, such as displaying and recording facial and incident scene images in conditions ranging from well lit to total darkness, recording and playing back incident scene audio information for incident description and contacting voice recordings for identification.

  • Patent number: 7989511
Abstract: A process and apparatus for preparing a synthesis gas suitable for feeding to a suitable hydrocarbon production reactor, such as a Fischer Tropsch reactor is described. According to one aspect, the process and apparatus utilize heat exchangers that thermally integrate the reaction steps such that heat generated by exothermic reactions, e.g., combustion, are arranged closely to the heat sinks, e.g., cool methane, water and air, to minimize heat loss and maximize heat recovery. Effectively, this thermal integration eliminates excess piping throughout, reduces initial capital and operating costs, provides built-in passive temperature control, and improves synthesis gas production efficiencies.
