Patent number: 5825681Abstract: A divider/multiplier circuit (10) is disclosed. In a divider mode, numerator terms are coupled to a normalizer (14) which generates normalized numerator values and corresponding numerator exponent values therefrom. Denominator terms are coupled to a look-up normalizer (20) which generates normalized denominator inverse values and corresponding denominator exponent values therefrom. The numerator and denominator exponent values are summed in an adder circuit (18) to generate a sum exponent value. The normalized numerator and inverse denominator values are multiplied in a multiplier circuit (16) to generate a normalized quotient value. The normalized quotient value is denormalized according to the sum exponent value. In a multiply mode of operation first and second multiplicands are coupled to the multiplier circuit (16). In a high precision divide mode, a sequence of numerator and inverse denominator values are coupled to the multiplier circuit (16) to generate a sequence of partial product terms.Type: GrantFiled: January 24, 1996Date of Patent: October 20, 1998Assignee: Alliance Semiconductor CorporationInventors: Andrew D. Patent number: 5565764Abstract: The parameters of a digital signal are extracted by the application of autocorrelation and crosscorrelation techniques to effectively measure the frequency and time behavior of a digital signal. The method employs digital autocorrelation and crosscorrelation to determine these parameters. Autocorrelation allows the measurement of signal frequency by measurement of instantaneous signal phase. Crosscorrelation allows measurement of relative phase between two or more signals in two or more channels by measurement of instantaneous phase and by referencing the instantaneous phase to the autocorrelation function. The autocorrelation function and crosscorrelation function preserve relative amplitude and phase. Measurement of relative amplitude and phase allows direction finding calculation for any current class of system that uses amplitude and/or phase to derive angle or arrival.Type: GrantFiled: May 5, 1995Date of Patent: October 15, 1996Assignee: Texas Instruments IncorporatedInventors: Leslie A. Patent number: 4946332Abstract: A trailer capable of carrying a boat and vehicle in a dual load mode of operation wherein the boat is mounted rearwardly of the vehicle in an inclined position with the bow of the boat above portions of the vehicle being carried. The trailer is also convertible into a single load mode of operation wherein the boat is carried low in a conventional orientation by lowering a supporting boat carriage into a collapsed position near the frame of the trailer. The trailer is provided with a boat carriage which is connected to the frame of the trailer and supported by a lifting mechanism which causes the boat carriage and any supported boat to shift rearwardly when they are moved from the collapsed position into the extended raised position. This rearward movement automatically shifts the weight of the boat carriage and any supported boat rearwardly to counteract the loading associated with a vehicle on forward portions of the trailer.Type: GrantFiled: September 20, 1988Date of Patent: August 7, 1990Inventor: Lewis D.
