  • Publication number: 20230238471
Abstract: A method for manufacturing high efficiency solar cells is disclosed. The method comprises providing a thin dielectric layer and a doped polysilicon layer on the back side of a silicon substrate. Subsequently, a high quality oxide layer and a wide band gap doped semiconductor layer can both be formed on the back and front sides of the silicon substrate. A metallization process to plate metal fingers onto the doped polysilicon layer through contact openings can then be performed. The plated metal fingers can form a first metal gridline. A second metal gridline can be formed by directly plating metal to an emitter region on the back side of the silicon substrate, eliminating the need for contact openings for the second metal gridline. Among the advantages, the method for manufacture provides decreased thermal processes, decreased etching steps, increased efficiency and a simplified procedure for the manufacture of high efficiency solar cells.

  • Patent number: 11710514
Abstract: First signaling indicative of instructions to enter a self-refresh (SREF) mode can be received concurrently by a plurality of memory dies. Responsive to a memory die of the plurality of memory dies entering the SREF mode, self-refreshing of memory banks of the memory die can be delayed, at the memory die and based on fuse states of an array of fuses of the memory die, an amount of time relative to receipt of the signaling by the memory die. Delaying self-refreshing of memory banks of memory dies in a staggered, or asynchronous, manner can evenly distribute power consumption of the memory dies so that the likelihood of an associated power spike is reduced or eliminated.

  • Publication number: 20230219933
Abstract: The near-infrared window of fluorescent heptamethine cyanine dyes greatly facilitates biological imaging because there is deep penetration of the light and negligible background fluorescence. But dye instability, aggregation, and poor pharmacokinetics are current drawbacks that limit performance and the scope of possible applications. All these limitations are simultaneously overcome with a new molecular design strategy that produces a charge balanced and sterically shielded fluorochrome. The key design feature is a meso-Aryl group that simultaneously projects two shielding arms directly over each face of a linear heptamethine polyene. Cell and mouse imaging experiments compared a shielded heptamethine cyanine dye (and several peptide and antibody bioconjugates) to benchmark heptamethine dyes and found that the shielded systems possess an unsurpassed combination of photophysical, physiochemical and biodistribution properties that greatly enhance bioimaging performance.

  • Publication number: 20230207527
Abstract: Integrated circuits and integrated circuit dies include TSVs laid out in symmetrical patterns. Because of the symmetrical arrangement of the TSVs and associated routing patterns, an integrated circuit is able to support operation of multiple similar dies that are placed in different positions in the integrated circuit. This in turn simplifies the design and production of the multiple similar dies, thus reducing development and manufacturing costs for the corresponding integrated circuits.

  • Publication number: 20230201901
Abstract: Spiral forming devices, systems, and methods can be used to join edges of a of a stock material, in a curved configuration, along one or more joints to form tubular structures, such as conical and/or cylindrical structures (e.g., frusto-conical structures). A planar form of the stock material can be formed from a plurality planar sheets coupled to one another in an abutting relationship. By controlling relative orientation and shapes of the plurality of planar sheets forming the stock material and/or by controlling a position of a roll bender used to curve the planar form of the stock material into the curved configuration, the curved configuration of the stock material can be controlled through transitions between sheets to facilitate rolling the sheets to a desired diameter with a reduced likelihood of dimples or other errors and to facilitate fit up between adjacent sheets in the curved configuration.

  • Patent number: 11687251
Abstract: Systems and methods for dynamic repartitioning of physical memory address mapping involve relocating data stored at one or more physical memory locations of one or more memory devices to another memory device or mass storage device, repartitioning one or more corresponding physical memory maps to include new mappings between physical memory addresses and physical memory locations of the one or more memory devices, then loading the relocated data back onto the one or more memory devices at physical memory locations determined by the new physical address mapping. Such dynamic repartitioning of the physical memory address mapping does not require a processing system to be rebooted and has various applications in connection with interleaving reconfiguration and error correcting code (ECC) reconfiguration of the processing system.

  • Patent number: 11686155
Abstract: Devices, systems, and methods are directed to mounting an auxiliary component to a tower based at least in part on a force distribution in which a normal force is greater than a shear force exerted by the auxiliary component on a shell of the tower such that the auxiliary component may be held in place relative to the tower without penetrating the shell of the tower. Thus, as compared to mounting techniques requiring penetration of the shell of the tower, this force distribution along the shell of the tower may facilitate mounting the auxiliary component to the tower with little to no impact on cost and/or structural requirements of the tower. Further, or instead, as compared to other mounting techniques, mounting the auxiliary component based at least in part on this force distribution may reduce or eliminate the need for specialized tools, thus facilitating in-field installation of the auxiliary component.

  • Publication number: 20230191953
Abstract: An actuator includes a first hinge assembly and a second hinge assembly. The actuator has a first dimension and a second dimension, the first dimension extending through the hinge assemblies. An outer skin is connected to the hinge assemblies. The outer skin defines a first actuator side, a second actuator side residing opposite the first actuator side, and a cavity. Shape-memory material (SMM) members are connected to the opposed hinge assemblies. At least one spring member is positioned within the cavity and structured to exert forces on the opposed first and second actuator sides tending to urge the sides away from each other along the second dimension. When an input is provided to the SMM members, the SMM members change their configurations and cause the actuator to morph into an activated configuration in which the first dimension decreases and the second dimension changes inversely to the first dimension.

  • Publication number: 20230195664
Abstract: A method for software management of DMA transfer commands includes receiving a DMA transfer command instructing a data transfer by a first processor device. Based at least in part on a determination of runtime system resource availability, a device different from the first processor device is assigned to assist in transfer of at least a first portion of the data transfer. In some embodiments, the DMA transfer command instructs the first processor device to write a copy of data to a third processor device. Software analyzes network bus congestion at a shared communications bus and initiates DMA transfer via a multi-hop communications path to bypass the congested network bus.
