Abstract: A method and an apparatus for communication between multiple coordinator-based wireless networks connected through a wired backbone network by means of a wired/wireless relay device. In the communication method, communication is performed between coordinator-based wireless networks in a network including the coordinator-based wireless networks connected through a wired backbone network by means of a combination of identification information of a network device and identification information of a coordinator-based wireless network including the network device.

Abstract: A method of controlling services that can be used between network devices using only one network device, the network device that performs the method, and a storage medium that stores the method are provided. The method includes the operations of producing integrated service information from service information of a network device and service information of a partner network device that is connected with the network device, and outputting the integrated service information to the network device. Accordingly, controlling a service that can be used between network devices is facilitated.

Abstract: A method of providing services between network devices is provided. The method includes transmitting a service announcement request from a network device; checking service compatibility between the network device that transmitted the service announcement request and a network device that has transmitted a service announcement response, when at least one service announcement response is received in response to the service announcement request; detecting a common service that can be commonly used between the network device and a network device which has service compatibility with the network device; and providing a user with information on available services that can be commonly used between the network devices based on the detected common service.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for authoring multimedia documents are provided. The apparatus includes a template document floating field detector for detecting a floating field of a template document, which is an incomplete multimedia document having a fixed field and the floating field, by parsing a control document including information identifying the floating field and a list of selectable objects; a control document provider for rendering and outputting the control document; a user selection information receiving unit for receiving information selected by a user with respect to the control document output from the control document provider; and a multimedia document finisher for completing the template document as a multimedia document by fixing the detected floating field to be an object designated by the information selected by the user among the list of selectable objects, when the information selected by the user is received.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for controlling buffering of an audio stream so that audio can be played continuously without stoppage using a minimum amount of buffering are provided. The method for controlling buffering of data includes (a) determining a buffering period of compressed audio data on the basis of a time stamp which corresponds to a packet division unit, by considering the state of a network, (b) calculating a time period where the compressed audio data is to be stored in a buffer, on the basis of the buffering period that is determined in step (a), (c) buffering the inputted compressed audio data in a decoding buffer for the time period that is calculated in step (b), and (d) decoding the compressed audio data that is stored in the decoding buffer when the time period passes in step (c) and storing the decoded audio data in a composition buffer for synchronization with video data.

Abstract: A wireless universal serial bust (USB) host, a wireless USB device, a method of providing the function of a dual role device host, and a method of performing the function of the dual role device. The wireless USB host includes a searching unit which searches whether a wireless USB device can create a beacon on the basis of a message received in a wireless USB point-to-point communication environment; a control transfer packet creating unit which creates a control transfer packet including beacon synchronization information, channel time allocation information, and information on a transmission direction of data on the basis of the searched result; and a transmitting/receiving unit which transmits the control transfer packet on the basis of the beacon synchronization information and performs data communication with the wireless USB device on the basis of the channel time allocation information and the information on the transmission direction of data.

The wireless relay apparatus includes a management packet analyzing unit which receives a management packet including channel time allocation information and information related to the transmission direction of data and analyzes the management packet; a response packet analyzing unit which receives a response packet, which is a response to the management packet, from a wireless USB device and analyzes the response packet; a control unit which controls a stream of data between a wireless USB host and the wireless USB device with reference to the analyzed management packet and the analyzed response packet; and a transmitting/receiving unit which transmits or receives the management packet, the response packet, or data according to the result of the control.

Abstract: A wireless network apparatus and method for performing channel allocation between heterogeneous wireless networks is provided. The wireless network apparatus includes a first ultra wide band (UWB) interface module that transmits and receives a frame compliant with a first UWB communication format; a second UWB interface module that transmits and receives a frame compliant with a second UWB communication format; and a channel time adjustment module that generates a transmission frame having channel allocation information, which is contained in a frame received through the first UWB interface module, reflected thereon and transmits the generated transmission frame through the second UWB interface module. The method includes receiving a frame compliant with a first ultra wide band (UWB) communication format; generating a transmission frame having channel allocation information reflected thereon; and transmitting the generated transmission frame according to a second UWB communication format.

Abstract: A method for broadcasting a data packet in a wireless universal serial bus (USB) environment, a method for receiving the data packet being broadcasted, a wireless USB host, and a wireless USB device are provided. The method for broadcasting a data packet in a wireless USB environment includes generating a management packet containing broadcast Channel Time Allocation (CTA) information, transmitting the management packet to at least one USB device within a cluster of USB devices, and broadcasting a data packet during a time indicated by the broadcast CTA information.

Abstract: A flow control method in wireless Universal Serial Bus (USB) communication, and a wireless USB device and a wireless USB host using the same are provided. The flow control method includes receiving a wireless USB communication management packet including channel time allocation information and information on a data transfer direction for one or more wireless USB devices that can communicate with a wireless USB host. The received wireless USB communication management packet is analyzed, and when the wireless USB device is short of a storage space for storing data received from the wireless USB host or when data to be transferred to the wireless USB host is not ready, a response packet including information on a time when the storage space or the data to be transferred to the wireless USB host will be prepared is generated in response to the wireless USB communication management packet. Then, the generated response packet is transmitted to the wireless USB host.

Abstract: A method of allocating a channel time period for peer-to-peer communication in wireless universal serial bus (WUSB) communication is provided. The method includes: receiving a peer-to-peer request message requesting peer-to-peer communication from a first device during a device notification time slot (DNTS); and allocating a channel time period for peer-to-peer communication to the first device by generating a device-to-device channel time allocator (CTA) in a microscheduled management command (MMC). The device-to-device CTA allocates a time slot for peer-to-peer communication. Accordingly, it is possible to enable WUSB devices to peer-to-peer communicate with one another.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for wireless universal serial bus (WUSB) communication are provided. The communication method for a host includes allocating a dedicated channel interval, which is an interval in which an allocated device can use the channel of the wireless interface exclusively, to the allocated device from among devices connected through a wireless interface; transmitting information on the allocation to the allocated device; and communicating exclusively with the allocated device during the exclusive channel interval, such that micro-scheduling is not needed in this interval, which improves the throughput of the WUSB communication.

Abstract: A network relay apparatus and method are provided. The network relay includes a sub-network interface for communication with a sub-network, a plurality of backbone network interfaces for communication with a plurality of backbone networks, and a control unit for outputting data, which is received from a device included in the sub-network through the sub-network interface, through one of the backbone network interfaces. In the network relay, it is possible to fulfill various requests for communication quality by connecting the sub-network with the plurality of backbone networks.

The method includes a coordinator of a first wireless network selecting a channel through which data are transmitted and received, selecting a period during which the channel is in a sleep period, setting the selected period as an active period of the first wireless network, and transmitting data containing information about the active period to the first wireless network.

Abstract: Provided are a method and apparatus for supporting multiple wireless universal serial bus (WUSB) hosts in coordinator-based wireless network. The method for supporting a plurality of wireless universal serial bus hosts in a coordinator-based wireless network, includes, receiving a request frame including information to request the role of WUSB host, from a specific device among devices that belong to the coordinator-based wireless network, allocating a channel whereby the device having sent the request frame can function as a WUSB host, and transmitting an information frame including information regarding the allocated channel to the devices that belong to the coordinator-based wireless network.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for transmitting and receiving data via a WUSB. The method includes creating an integrated header used to transmit data to an external device, wherein the integrated header has a minimum number of fields selected from a plurality fields of headers; and transmitting a packet including the integrated header and a payload containing the data to the device. The packet size can be reduced by using the integrated header.
