    Abstract: A parking assistance device that can accurately set an appropriate turning position with less processing load as compared with the related art when calculating a travel trajectory for parking a towing vehicle connected with a towed vehicle is provided. Specifically, when calculating a travel trajectory for parking a towing vehicle connected with a towed vehicle, a parking start position and a parking target position are obtained, a plurality of candidate turning positions are set on a forward trajectory for moving forward from the parking start position, backward trajectories are calculated for the respective plurality of candidate turning positions when backward movement is assumed to be started from the candidate turning positions set on the forward trajectory, the calculated backward trajectories are compared for the respective plurality of candidate turning positions, and a turning position is set based on the comparison result.

    Abstract: A selective thin-film etching method includes forming a stacked structure on a substrate by alternately stacking a plurality of silicon germanium layers and a plurality of silicon layers, forming mask patterns, at least one of which is arranged at different intervals with respect to at least some adjacent mask patterns, on the stacked structure, performing first etching to expose an upper surface of a lowermost layer of the stacked structure and second etching to expose an upper surface of the substrate, and removing the mask patterns. In the first etching, the mask patterns are used as an etch mask, chlorine gas is used as a first etch gas, and first plasma is formed in a process chamber. In the second etching, the mask patterns are used as an etch mask, an interhalogen gas is used as a second etch gas, and second plasma is formed in the process chamber.
